When children show symptoms of nasal polyps, parents must of course pay attention to observe and understand. They often show problems such as nasal congestion, poor airflow, increased nasal discharge, and hearing impairment. Sometimes other complications may also occur, causing hearing loss.

Nasal polyps tend to occur bilaterally and are more common in adults. Maxillary sinus and choanal polyps tend to occur unilaterally, often originating from the anterior inner wall of the maxillary sinus and protruding into the choanal cavity. They are more common in children.

initial symptoms.

3) Olfactory dysfunction: Long-term obstruction by nasal polyps affects the sensitivity of the olfactory area of the upper nasal passage to odors. Over time, olfactory dysfunction often occurs. Some patients may experience headaches.

4) Other complications: For maxillary sinus posterior nasal polyps that protrude into the nasopharynx, they often block the Eustachian tube and cause symptoms of secretory otitis media, hearing loss, low-frequency tinnitus, etc.; severe bilateral nasal polyps can also cause facial changes, collapse of the nasal dorsum, and the formation of a "frog nose"; long-term nasal polyp patients may also develop asthma. Clinically, nasal polyps, asthma and aspirin intolerance are called the "triad"; nasal polyps can also cause hyperplastic sinus disease (HSD), and sinus lesions aggravate nasal symptoms.
