I don’t know what the symptoms of hydrocele in children are. Have you ever paid attention to them? Common symptoms are lumps in the groin or scrotum, or lumps that feel heavy and swollen, with great tension, and the testicles are usually not palpable. 1. Children with hydrocele generally have no systemic symptoms. Most of the time, family members discover a lump in one side of the groin or scrotum, or a local lump on both sides. It grows slowly and does not cause pain. When the lump is large, there may be a feeling of heaviness and distension. Because the processus vaginalis is relatively small, the fluid flowing into the patent tunica vaginalis cavity is not easy to flow back into the abdominal cavity, so the mass does not change significantly in size. If the opening of the unclosed sheath is relatively thick, after lying flat all night, you will see that the lump has shrunk in the morning. 2. Clinical examination reveals a clearly demarcated cystic mass in the lateral groin or scrotum with no obvious pedicle connecting it to the abdominal cavity and a positive transillumination test. Depending on the location, there are two types of hydrocele: spermatic cord and testicular hydrocele. 3. The mass of hydrocele is limited to the spermatic cord. It is generally small in size and oval in shape. The testicles can be clearly felt below the mass. The mass can be moved by pulling the testicles. 4. The mass of testicular hydrocele hangs at the bottom of the scrotum and is oval or round in shape. If the mass has a lot of tension, the testicles generally cannot be palpated. The light transmission test was positive. 5. The testicular hydrocele is soft, elastic and cystic. The testicles and epididymis cannot be touched, and the light transmission test is positive. The hydrocele is located in the groin or above the testicles, with a clear boundary between it and the testicles. When there is hydrocele of the testicular cord, there is a pear-shaped swelling in the scrotum and the testicles cannot be felt clearly. In case of communicating hydrocele, the sac may shrink or disappear when the patient lies down. 6. B-ultrasound examination can further clarify the diagnosis and is of great significance for secondary testicular hydrocele suspected to be caused by testicular tumors. |
