When congenital cerebral palsy occurs, family members are particularly afraid because many people believe that this disease is incurable. However, experts remind everyone that today’s medical standards are very advanced. Although this disease is very difficult to cure, family members must not give up. 1. Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment of cerebral palsy: Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment is the traditional medical treatment method of our country. The main means currently used to treat spastic cerebral palsy are acupuncture and massage. 2. Drug treatment of cerebral palsy: Drug treatment of spastic cerebral palsy is not the main means, but only an auxiliary treatment method. Children with the disease can be assisted with some neurotrophic drugs such as glutamate, cerebrolysin, and cerebrolysin during infancy. Once the lesions are fixed, these drugs will not work. Some muscle relaxants such as baclofen can be used. However, these drugs cannot be used for a long time to avoid adverse reactions such as reduced motor ability and accumulation of drug toxicity. 3. Rehabilitation training: Rehabilitation training is the most important treatment method for patients with spastic cerebral palsy, and it is especially important in early treatment. Through rehabilitation training, the brain tissue can continue to mature and differentiate, so that the function of the damaged part can be compensated, thereby improving the motor function of the child. a. Physical exercise training: Physical therapy (PT) is a physical treatment for various movement disorders and abnormal postures. Currently, the Vojta and Bobath methods are commonly used, and the Ueda method is still used in China. This method can promote muscle strength and endurance and increase the range of joint motion, and is suitable for children who are older and able to cooperate. b. Skill training: Occupational therapy (O'R) focuses on training the fine motor skills of the upper limbs and hands to improve the independent living skills of children. c. Language training: including coordinated correction of hearing, pronunciation, language, and chewing and swallowing functions. 4. Surgical treatment: Surgical treatment is mainly used for the treatment of spastic cerebral palsy. The purpose is to correct deformities, relieve muscle spasms, and restore or improve the balance of muscle strength and muscle tension (including tendon lengthening, bone and joint surgery, neurosurgery such as "selective posterior rhizotomy-SPR", etc.). 5. Others: such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, etc., play an auxiliary role in functional training. Therefore, the question of whether congenital cerebral palsy can be cured still needs to be determined based on the patient's treatment situation. Through the above knowledge of cerebral palsy treatment methods, I believe everyone can understand the current methods of treating cerebral palsy. Therefore, cerebral palsy must be treated as early as possible, cooperate with the doctor's treatment, and undergo rehabilitation training on time. I believe it can be cured soon. |
