What to do if your child has a stuffy nose

Nasal congestion is a feeling of nasal obstruction, which may also make people feel short of breath. It is a common clinical symptom. Many adults want to know what to do if their children have a stuffy nose. For children, steam can be used to ventilate the nose to relieve nasal congestion.

1. Use steam to fumigate your nose:

This method can relieve mild nasal mucosal edema. The specific steps are to prepare a cup of boiling water and place it next to the baby's nose, so that the baby can relieve edema by inhaling hot steam, or create steam in the bathroom and let the baby stay in the bathroom for a while. Doing this will allow the baby's nasal cavity to inhale water vapor, which will not only help relieve edema but also facilitate the discharge of secretions.

2. You can also use saline nose drops:

It works by helping to clear nasal secretions. The specific operation steps are to first drip saline nasal drops into the baby's nasal cavity to soften the secretions and stimulate the baby to push the secretions from back to front, and then use a ball-shaped nasal aspirator to suck out the secretions.

3. Nasal spray:

It works by relieving severe nasal congestion caused by a cold. If the above treatments fail to relieve your baby's nasal congestion, and your baby can't sleep well because of the nasal congestion, can't eat well, or even struggles and cries, then you should consider using nasal spray. When using nasal sprays, it is important to note that you should not use nasal drops for your baby casually, especially nasal drops for adults. You must use the medicine under the guidance of a doctor, and usually use nasal drops that do not contain ephedrine.
