How to treat a child's low-grade fever correctly

If a child has a low fever and the symptoms are relatively mild, it is not recommended to take medication. You can give the child more hot water to drink and wipe the child's body with warm water. If the symptoms do not ease, go to the hospital for examination and treatment. Do not use folk remedies for treatment.

1. What should I do if my child has a low fever? If the baby's temperature does not exceed 38℃, it is generally not recommended to give the baby antipyretics, because the child's temperature regulation center is not fully developed, and hypothermia (below 36℃) is likely to occur after taking antipyretics when the temperature is below 38℃.

2. When it comes to what to do if a child has a low fever , parents can give the baby more water, but be careful to drink small amounts and multiple times, about 20 ml each time. At the same time, you should also pay attention to finding the cause of the low fever and treat it symptomatically, and the baby's body temperature will naturally return to normal.

3. At the same time, parents can also adopt physical cooling methods, such as using warm water to wipe the baby's neck, armpits, elbows, thighs and other areas with large blood vessels, until the skin turns slightly red. Be careful not to use alcohol. If it is winter or the room is cold, make sure to keep the baby warm after washing him. This is also an effective way to deal with a child with a low fever.

4. If your child has a low-grade fever for more than one week , you'd better take your baby to see a doctor. The doctor should choose blood drawing, X-ray, B-ultrasound and other examination methods based on the baby's symptoms. If your baby has a low-grade fever for more than 2 weeks, your doctor may want to do more in-depth testing.
