What are the symptoms of conjunctivitis in babies?

The baby's immunity and resistance are relatively weak, so they are more susceptible to diseases. Common symptoms are increased secretions from the corners of the child's eyes, which are purulent or yellow, and conjunctival congestion may also occur.

1. Increased secretions : If one day, when your child wakes up, you find that one or both of his eyes are blocked by secretions, then he may have conjunctivitis. Therefore, increased secretions are the main symptom of conjunctivitis. This secretion can be divided into several categories, such as watery, viscous, purulent, and mucopurulent, and is mostly white or yellow.

2. Conjunctival congestion: Congestion is caused by the dilation of blood vessels on the surface of the conjunctiva, which may be diffuse or localized. The hyperemia is bright red, and the color is more obvious in the fornix area, but the color of the hyperemia in the limbus is lighter. If your child's eyes are not swollen at this time, they will not be tender.

3. Mixed congestion: When conjunctivitis gradually spreads to the cornea, sclera, fascia and other parts, conjunctival congestion and ciliary congestion may coexist. We call this mixed bleeding.

4. Subconjunctival hemorrhage: Subconjunctival hemorrhage is caused by the rupture of small blood vessels under the conjunctiva, causing blood to enter the subconjunctival tissue. It is generally bright red dots or flakes, but if the amount of bleeding is large, it will not be ordinary bright red, but dark red, and local bulges will appear.
