Can I take a bath if I have roseola infantum?

Roseola infantum is also known as infantile roseola. It is a viral disease. The rash will be accompanied by high fever and severe cases may cause convulsions. However, many babies will recover on their own. So, can babies be bathed in the emergency room?

Children who develop roseola infantum are generally under two years old, especially under one year old. There is also an incubation period of five to fifteen days. During the febrile period, there will be high fever and some mild symptoms. During the eruptive phase, a rash appears with no pigmentation. The disease usually lasts three to five days, and the body temperature will return to normal levels.

Generally, no special treatment is required after suffering from roseola infantum. The main thing is to treat the symptoms. In particular, for some patients with high fever, antipyretics and sedatives can be used, and water and nutrition can be replenished. So far, there is no particularly effective antiviral drug. Severely ill patients can try antiviral drugs that are effective against cytomegalovirus, such as acyclovir.

3 This disease is generally not serious and should be treated generally, with enhanced care for the child, bed rest, and plenty of water. Give your child more nutritious and easily digestible food. Babies can be bathed after the onset of roseola infantum, but it is best to take a shower or rinse with warm water. Pay attention to skin cleanliness.
