If parents find that their children blink very frequently, it may be that their children's eyes are uncomfortable. This is an abnormal phenomenon. Parents should ask the children how they feel. If the child is very young, it is best to see a doctor to find the root cause as soon as possible. 1. Eyelashes are mainly seen in obese infants and young children. Due to facial obesity, the lower eyelashes curl inward, causing friction and irritation to the black eyeball. 2. Viral keratitis often occurs after a cold or fever. The child suddenly starts blinking frequently, and may have symptoms such as red eyes, tearing, photophobia (fear of light), or there may be no other eye symptoms. However, examination under a slit lamp may reveal lesions infiltrating the surface of the black eyeball. 3. Television image stimulation. This is because the TV screen flickers and changes rapidly, causing over-excitement of children's visual centers. 4. Mental stimulation is more common in children aged 5-13 years old. When blinking, the children often squeeze their eyes hard, or have spasms and twitches in the facial muscles, or twitches in the shoulder and abdominal muscles. Most of these children are scolded by their parents, have academic pressure, or are in a bad mood. Eye examination revealed no abnormalities. 5. The most common cause of the disease is watching TV, playing computer games, and playing video games for a long time. The main complaint is uncontrollable frequent blinking accompanied by varying degrees of foreign body sensation, redness, itching, dryness and other symptoms in the eyes. Some children have been using chloramphenicol, Runshu and other eye drops for a long time before seeing a doctor. 6. Ocular surface diseases, including trachoma, chronic conjunctivitis, keratitis, trichiasis and other common eye diseases. 7. Children suffering from lead poisoning or picky eating lack trace elements. For example, lead poisoning can lead to symptoms such as blinking, twitching of the mouth, irritability, and inattention. 8. Neurological diseases: Some children may experience blinking and involuntary facial twitching due to spasms of the face and orbicularis oculi muscle. Need to be transferred to neurology department for treatment. |
