What are the early symptoms of hyperthyroidism in children?

The early symptoms of hyperthyroidism in children are irritability, hyperactivity, excitement, insomnia, and polyphagia. However, the symptoms may not be obvious in some children, so parents tend to ignore them. Therefore, it is recommended that parents pay attention to their baby's health observation in life.

1. Heart failure and atrial fibrillation are rare in children. Symptoms of hyperthyroidism in children include irritability, hyperactivity, excitement, insomnia, polyphagia, irritability, subtle and rapid tremors in the hands and tongue, and other neuropsychiatric symptoms.

2. Symptoms of hyperthyroidism in children may include enlargement of the isthmus and body of the thyroid gland, which may move up and down with the trachea. In cases of diffuse enlargement, the glands are smooth, soft, and vibrate, and vascular murmurs can be heard.

3. What are the main symptoms of hyperthyroidism in children? The main manifestation is nodular enlargement. Patients with hyperthyroidism can feel single or multiple nodules of varying sizes, hard texture. Clinically, there are a few patients with hyperthyroidism whose thyroid gland is not obviously enlarged. The reason is that one type of thyroid antibodies is antibodies that stimulate or inhibit thyroid function. If a patient with hyperthyroidism has only antibodies that stimulate its function and antibodies that inhibit its growth at the same time, hyperthyroidism with a small thyroid gland may occur.

4. Children with hyperthyroidism are usually slightly taller than children of the same age, but they are also thin, juicy, afraid of heat, and have a low fever. The appetite is increased, the frequency of bowel movements increases but the stools are thick. Palpitations, rapid pulse, systolic murmur at the apex, large pulse pressure difference, may be accompanied by hypertension, cardiomegaly and heart rhythm disorders.
