What to do if your child often catches a cold

Every child is the apple of the parents’ eyes. Parents hope their children will become successful and grow up healthy and happy. However, in the process of parents raising their children, they often encounter many problems due to lack of attention and sadness, such as colds, falls, fevers, coughs, etc. Such situations have become commonplace. Now let’s talk about what we should do if our children always have colds and fevers? What measures should we take?

There are three reasons why children often catch colds: First, the child’s physical condition is poor, such as suffering from chronic upper respiratory tract inflammation, malnutrition or rickets, etc., which reduces resistance to disease and makes them prone to colds. Children who lack exercise and rarely go outdoors have poor physical fitness and are more likely to catch colds. The second is the influence of the child’s bedroom and living environment. Surveys show that children are more likely to catch colds in homes where the room temperature is too low or the indoor and outdoor hygiene conditions are too poor.

After finding out the causes and taking corresponding measures to eliminate them, your child will avoid catching colds frequently. If a child suffers from upper respiratory tract inflammation or other diseases, he or she should be treated promptly and thoroughly. For children who have low activity levels and seldom go outdoors, their outdoor activity time should be gradually increased starting from summer and autumn to enhance their physical fitness. When the indoor temperature in a home or nursery is too low or the temperature difference is too large, we should actively create conditions to improve the living environment for children. When someone in the family has a cold, they should pay attention to self-isolation, avoid contact with children, and be careful not to pass the cold to the children. Children who often suffer from colds should be given appropriate vitamin A supplements, such as oral cod liver oil drops or cod liver oil capsules, and eat more foods rich in vitamin A, such as pork liver, carrots, and tomatoes.

Children always catch colds in normal times because they are very vulnerable when facing diseases such as bacteria, viruses, colds, etc. We as parents must pay attention to these issues. Pay more attention to your children's physical health and start caring for them from the heart. We should also teach children to be hygienic, stay away from bacteria, and pay more attention to keeping them warm.
