What causes anal itching in children?

When babies are a little older, they tend to be more naughty, and sometimes they will even scratch certain parts of their bodies with their hands. However, this is often because they feel some discomfort, especially anal itching, which is sometimes caused by a disease.

This is related to the life and infection routes of pinworms. Pinworm eggs enter the child's mouth through the child's hands, and then grow into adult worms in the child's intestinal cavity. After the child falls asleep in the middle of the night, the worms crawl out of the child's anus and lay eggs on the skin around the anus. These pinworm eggs irritate the skin and make children feel itchy. Children will involuntarily reach out to scratch, and the eggs will stick to their hands. The eggs will then be eaten into their mouths, or passed to other children through their hands and toys when parents play with them. Therefore, pinworms can be easily spread among children in the kindergarten group, which is also the main reason why children are prone to anal itching after attending kindergarten.

After understanding that the main culprit of children's anal itching is pinworm infection, the next step is how we treat pinworms. To cure pinworm infection, first give your child two tablets of Enteric Worm Clear, one at a time. It should be noted that Enteric Worm Clear can only be taken by children over two years old. At the same time, wash the child's underwear with boiling water to kill the pinworm eggs on the child's underwear. After the child takes the medicine, every night after the child falls asleep, you, the parent, have to take the hard work of catching the small white pinworms around the child's anus. Because pinworms crawl out of the anus and lay eggs in the middle of the night when the child is asleep and the anus is relaxed.

In a word, the treatment of pinworms requires three steps to be carried out simultaneously: taking medicine to expel the worms, scalding the children's underwear to kill the worm eggs, and catching the worms in the middle of the night. It needs to be made clear that after children are treated, they are very likely to be reinfected with pinworms many times, because some children in kindergartens who have never been treated are the biggest source of pinworm infection.
