Where to massage when a child has a stomachache

It is very common for children to have stomachaches, but you should know that there are many reasons for baby's stomachache, such as diarrhea, gastrointestinal indigestion, etc. But what massage methods can help relieve it? Let’s talk about it below.

1. Preparation before massage

Lie flat on the bed, close your eyes slightly, regulate your breathing, overlap your right palm on the back of your left hand, gently place the palm of your left hand on your lower abdomen, and lie quietly for 1 to 3 minutes.

2. Massage around the navel

Place the palm of your right hand on the back of your left hand, and place the palm of your left hand under your navel. Apply appropriate force and massage the abdomen around the navel in a clockwise direction for 0.5 to 1 minute. It is best to have fever in the abdomen.

Efficacy: Warming the meridians and dispelling cold, regulating Qi and blood.

3. Massage the lower abdomen

Place the palm of your right hand on the back of your left hand, and gently place the palm of your left hand on your lower abdomen. Apply appropriate force and rub in a clockwise and counterclockwise circular motion for 0.5 to 1 minute, until your skin becomes warm.

Efficacy: Replenishes Qi and connects the heart and kidneys.

4. Push the midline of the abdomen

Place the palm of your right hand on the back of your left hand, press the base of your left palm under the xiphoid process (at the pit of the stomach), and use appropriate force to push downward along the midline of the abdomen from under the xiphoid process to the navel. Repeat this operation for 0.5 to 1 minute.

Efficacy: Strengthens the spleen and stomach, regulates Qi and blood.
