What should I do if my baby gets festering after being bitten by a mosquito?

In the hot summer, there are often buzzing mosquitoes flying around the house, which is very annoying. If people have babies at home, they must take anti-mosquito measures. Because the baby's skin is fragile and the body resistance is weak, if the baby is bitten by a mosquito, the wound is likely to fester. So what should I do if my baby gets festering after being bitten by a mosquito?

In summer, it is better to apply ice or cold water to cool the wound after being bitten by mosquitoes. This will cause the blood vessels in the skin to contract and the toxins secreted by the mosquitoes will not be able to spread. Generally speaking, most injuries caused by mosquito bites are not serious. Try not to let your baby scratch the wound. If the mosquito bite area is scratched, the toxin will spread and may cause impetigo. Complex iodine, Band-Aid, Bactroban ointment, Yunnan Baiyao spray, compound polymyxin B, etc.

How to prevent mosquitoes in summer

There are five tips for preventing mosquitoes in summer:

First, it is best to use less soap when bathing in summer. Generally speaking, mosquitoes like to eat nectar. Therefore, the probability of being bitten by mosquitoes will increase after using items with floral scents such as perfume, cosmetics, and facial creams. However, not all scents will attract mosquitoes. For example, the cologne commonly used by men has a sandalwood scent and can actually repel mosquitoes.

Second, eat more vegetables. Some vegetables have smells that mosquitoes don’t like, such as vegetables containing carotene and spicy vegetables such as garlic. After people eat them, mosquitoes will stay away from you.

Third, wear light-colored clothes. Aedes mosquito (also known as spotted mosquito) likes to land on black clothes the most.

Fourth, try to wear socks. Many girls like to wear shoes barefoot, but they don’t know that after wearing socks, mosquitoes feel that the humidity of human skin is lower and the volatile substances on the skin surface are reduced, so they will bite less.

Fifth, do not scratch after being bitten. After scratching, the tissue fluid, lymph fluid, etc. in the skin will seep out and swell into a blister. The more you scratch, the more itchy it will become, and it will be difficult to subside. If you persist in not scratching, the itching will generally subside significantly after 10 to 15 minutes.
