What to do with hydrocele in children? Must-read knowledge for mothers

Hydrocele in children is a disease that is quite harmful to children and will affect their normal development. Testicular hydrocele in infants and young children will affect changes in the scrotum. So what should we do if children suffer from hydrocele and how to treat it?

Hydrocele is a highly harmful male disease that affects male fertility and leads to male infertility. This disease is common in daily life, especially in children. Hydrocele of the testicles in infants and young children is a hydrocele cavity formed due to the failure of the abdominal processus vaginalis to close before and after birth. It causes the accumulation and expansion of fluid to form a pear-shaped cavity. Some patients with congenital hydrocele have a communicating type of hydrocele because there is a channel connecting the hydrocele cavity and the peritoneal cavity. The fluid can flow back and forth from the hydrocele cavity with changes in body position, and clinically, the scrotum often changes in size.

In daily life, when children suffer from hydrocele, they should be treated in time and early to avoid affecting their health when they grow up. In general, the treatment of testicular hydrocele should be determined according to the patient's age, the amount of fluid and the cause of the disease. The traditional treatment methods are as follows:

1. Combination of Chinese and Western medicine. If the condition is mild, conservative treatment with Western medicine and conditioning therapy with Chinese medicine can be used.

2. Waiting for treatment. Mild hydrocele generally does not require treatment. For example, in infancy, most hydroceles containing a small amount of fluid can be absorbed by themselves, so there is no need to rush for surgery.

3. Puncture and fluid extraction is suitable for young children or those who refuse surgery or have contraindications to surgery. Under local anesthesia, puncture the lower part of the scrotum with an injection needle and aspirate the accumulated fluid. However, this method generally leads to relapse and is prone to infection.
