How to do infant health exercises

After the child is born, we as parents should help the child exercise more, which is good for the child's physical growth and development. However, many parents of newborns do not know how to let their children do these exercises. After all, incorrect exercise methods may hurt the child. So, below I will give you a detailed introduction to the methods of infant health exercises. I hope that parents will understand it.

Chest expansion exercise

Purpose of exercise: To strengthen the baby's arm strength, exercise the chest and abdominal muscles, increase lung capacity, and promote the growth and development of the baby's upper limbs and chest.

Operation 1

Let the child lie flat on the bed, and the parents should massage his limbs first, and then the chest and back.

Operation 2

(1) The parent holds the baby’s wrists with both hands, with the thumbs placed in the baby’s palms, allowing the baby to hold the hands with both arms flat on both sides of the body.

(2) Ask the baby to raise his arms horizontally, with his palms facing up and the back of his hands touching the bed.

(3) Raise both arms to your chest at the same time and clap your hands lightly once.

(4) Repeat step 3, then return to step 1.

Note: When practicing, both arms must be straight and not bent. Parents should be careful not to lift the baby's arms upwards with force to prevent dislocation of the baby's joints.

Flexion and extension exercise

The purpose of the exercise is to improve the flexibility of the joints, expand the chest cavity, and promote the development of the upper limbs and chest cavity by flexing and extending the children's arms.

The preparation is the same as step 1 of operation 2 in section 1.

Operation Start

(1) Hold the baby’s arms horizontally with the palms facing up and the backs of the hands against the bed.

(2) Cross the baby’s arms in front of his chest and apply gentle pressure to the abdomen.

(3) Gently pull the baby's arms from the chest to the top of the head, with the palms facing up and the backs of the hands touching the bed.

(4) Repeat the above steps several times and return to the original position.

Note: When the baby crosses his arms in front of his chest and gently presses his abdomen, the force should be kept light and gentle.

Lower limb exercise

The purpose of the exercise is to strengthen the baby's abdomen and legs, and enhance the rhythm and coordination of the baby's movements.

Preparation: Let the baby lie on his back, and the parents hold the baby's ankles to straighten the baby's legs.

Operation Start

(1) Bend the baby’s left leg toward the abdomen, while keeping the right leg in the original position.

(2) The left leg returns to the preparatory position, and then the baby’s right leg is bent toward the abdomen, while the left leg remains in the original position. Repeat several times.

(3) Allow the baby’s legs to extend toward the abdomen at the same time, and then return to the ready position.

(4) Repeat step 3.

Note: Apply a little force when bending the baby's legs to the abdomen, but do not use too much force when extending the legs to avoid damaging the joints and ligaments.

Section 4: Supine Kick

The purpose of the exercise is to train the coordination of the baby's upper and lower limbs and promote the regulatory function of the nervous system on the motor system.

Operation Start

(1) Raise your arms to your chest and clap your hands.

(2) Raise your left leg to your abdomen and tap it against your right hand. Repeat several times.

(3) Raise your right leg to your abdomen and tap it against your left hand. Repeat several times.

When practicing for the first time, both the parent and the child need to work together to gradually train the child to control hand movements by themselves and increase the difficulty.

Note: Do not raise your legs more than 90 degrees, lower them gently, and do not clap too hard.

After the above introduction, everyone knows how to do infant exercises. In fact, infant exercises consist of some very simple movements, but these movements are a very good way for children to make their bodies stronger. However, we have to admit one thing, that is, we must be very careful not to hurt the child's body.
