What is premature heart failure?

Many people don't know what premature heart dysplasia is. This disease is mostly seen in early childhood. This symptom may appear as soon as the child is born. This kind of heart dysplasia in children will cause great damage to the heart. If you don't pay attention and the child's emotions are not well controlled, then there will be a severe coma or other abnormal phenomena, which will cause great damage to life. So what is premature heart dysplasia?

The later congenital heart disease is discovered, the milder the condition. The heart disease discovered immediately after birth is serious and the weight is basically not up to standard. Some patients even developed symptoms in the obstetrics hospital. Anyone can tell at a glance that the skin of a child with congenital heart disease is not pink like that of a newborn, but purple. This cyanosis is not always visible and only appears when the child cries. This type of child has rapid breathing, cannot eat much milk, and will quickly spit out the nipple. Although there is no purple color, symptoms of serious heart disease are increased respiratory rate and poor feeding. If you have these symptoms, your doctor will listen to your heart with a stethoscope. At this time, you will hear a murmur that is not normally heard, and a chest X-ray may show an abnormal heart shape.

Congenital heart disease is brought from the womb, so it is not necessarily the case that symptoms will be present from the day of birth. Many children develop symptoms one week after birth. Symptoms usually appear within 3 months. If symptoms appear after 3 months, it can be considered not a serious heart disease.

Congenital severe heart disease is caused by abnormalities in some tissues of the heart, which is the pump that circulates blood. A hole appears on the atrioventricular wall that should be blocked, or the blood vessel valve is diseased, or the right and left sides of the blood vessel are misconnected. In this way, the pump cannot work normally, causing fresh arterial blood to mix seriously with venous blood containing waste products, and the blood will only accumulate in the lungs. When fresh arterial blood mixes with venous blood containing waste products, it cannot supply the body with enough oxygen.

Recent advances in medicine have made it possible to repair abnormal areas of heart tissue surgically, but not all lesions can be cured. The difficulty is that when severe symptoms appear soon after birth, giving the child oxygen, medication or injections will have no effect. Even if surgery is performed, the results are often not good. A common phenomenon is that the clean blood returning from the lungs does not enter the left side of the heart, but enters the right side and then flows back to the lungs. This is called total pulmonary venous return. In addition, there are also conditions such as aortic stenosis, pulmonary valve closure and stenosis, and great vessel transposition.

Doctors may persuade children who have poor treatment outcomes to undergo surgery because they believe that new surgical methods may save the children. In any case, opening the heart for surgery is a huge burden on a newborn. The surgery should be delayed as much as possible until the newborn is able to withstand it. This is the common practice now.

If a premature baby has heart hypoplasia, we need to control the child from these aspects, and also understand the symptoms of the disease and the diagnosis of the disease. This will give you more confidence and faith in the treatment of the child's disease. For premature babies with heart hypoplasia, we must go to the hospital for diagnosis in time and have a cardiac color ultrasound examination, so that we can promptly diagnose whether the child's heart development is abnormal.
