A common phenomenon is that the clean blood returning from the lungs does not enter the left side of the heart, but enters the right side and then flows back to the lungs. This is called total pulmonary venous return. In addition, there are also conditions such as aortic stenosis, pulmonary valve closure and stenosis, and great vessel transposition.

Doctors may persuade children who have poor treatment outcomes to undergo surgery because they believe that new surgical methods may save the children.
