Nowadays, more and more children are prone to tongue ulcers, but many young parents don’t know how to treat tongue ulcers for their children. In fact, this is a very common phenomenon, so parents must pay attention to taking very good methods to alleviate it. This is the best for their children’s health and will not harm their children’s health. They can also recover as soon as possible. Median rhomboid glossitis occurs in the rhomboid or rhomboid-shaped, round or oval non-papillary lesions in front of the foramen cecum and the midline of the dorsum of the tongue (i.e. in front of the lambdoid groove). It is about 1 cm in diameter, slightly red in color, and has a clear boundary with the surrounding tissue. Sometimes it is locally nodular and hard to touch, but the base is soft. No treatment is required and chlorhexidine solution can be used to rinse the mouth. The lingual papillae include filiform papillae, fungiform papillae, circumflex papillae, and foliate papillae. Filiform papillitis is also known as atrophic glossitis. The fungiform papillae are located in the front and tip of the tongue. When inflamed, the fungiform papillae become congested, red and swollen. The swollen papillae have a burning sensation, especially when eating hot or spicy foods, the irritating pain is obvious. The cause is unknown, but it is related to vitamin B deficiency, anemia, and local stimulation from mouthwashes, food, physical and chemical substances, etc. Contour papillitis occurs occasionally, with the nipple becoming swollen and red, and with local swelling and discomfort. The foliate papillae have degenerated in humans and are located in a wrinkled shape on both sides of the tongue edge, close to the pharynx. They become inflamed due to pharyngeal inflammation and stimulation from sharp tooth tips. At this time, the wrinkles of the foliate papillae deepen, become red and swollen, and there is pain when the tongue moves, which may cause irritation and burning pain. Care should be taken to differentiate it from malignant tumors occurring here. To treat foliate papillitis, local irritation must be eliminated and prednisolone suspension can be injected. Atrophic glossitis, also known as smooth tongue, is a chronic inflammation of the filiform papillae. In cases of vitamin B deficiency, anemia, fungal infection or other systemic diseases, the filiform papillae atrophy, the back of the tongue becomes smooth and red, while the fungiform papillae protrude, become red, swollen and enlarged. In severe cases, the fungiform papillae also atrophy, the tongue has no tongue coating, there is a burning sensation and pain, the patient is sensitive to external stimuli, and there are often small areas of erosion or ulcers due to damage. Median rhomboid glossitis and tongue contour papillitis are often suspected by patients to be tumors. Care should be taken to differentiate them and, if necessary, a biopsy should be performed to confirm the diagnosis. Malignant tumors may occur at the site of lingual papillitis and should be ruled out before treatment. The first thing is to find the location of the ulcer on your child's tongue, so that you can relieve it very well. And during the treatment process, do not let your child eat too spicy food, otherwise it will make your baby feel more painful in the ulcerated area. You should eat some semi-liquid food, which can greatly relieve the pain. |
