Precautions for children with high urine protein

When there is a problem with the kidneys, the urine protein will increase, and various proteins in the plasma will be lost, which will cause other diseases. High urine protein can occur in both adults and children, so children should be especially vigilant if they suffer from this disease. What are the precautions for children with high urine protein? Reasonable improvements should be made to children's diet, special attention should be paid to the supplementation of various trace elements, and timely drug treatment should be given.

1. Proteinuria can cause the loss of various proteins in plasma, causing metabolic disorders and functional abnormalities in several systems, and even various complications. For example, hypoalbuminemia itself or the associated low turgor pressure can cause changes in lipid metabolism. As lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase is excreted from the urine, it causes hypercholesterolemia, which in turn changes the ratio and activity of different types of lipoproteins, easily leading to vascular endothelial damage and impaired glomerular function, becoming a hidden danger of cardiovascular disease.

2. Along with urinary protein, there may be loss of many other proteins, which will cause corresponding consequences, such as loss of vitamin D binding globulin, leading to abnormal vitamin D and calcium metabolism, vitamin D deficiency, and affecting the bone development of children. The lack of thyroid binding globulin and albumin causes thyroid dysfunction, which in turn affects the growth and development of children.

3. Due to changes in urine protein excretion and protein synthesis, the body's coagulation factors and anticoagulation factors become unbalanced, the levels of coagulation factors II, III, IV, V and X increase, and the body's coagulation mechanism, platelet activity, and thrombus dissolution process become disordered. Therefore, the blood of children with nephrotic syndrome is in a hypercoagulable state, which puts them at high risk of thrombosis.

If urine protein is diagnosed as being caused by kidney disease, then for children, the corresponding treatment, in addition to being timely, the effectiveness of the method is undoubtedly the most critical. Once the situation of urinary protein cannot be curbed, that is, the chosen method has no actual therapeutic effect, then the consequences will be very terrible.
