How to care for neonatal acne?

When it comes to acne, many people know that it is another name for "pimples". When it comes to neonatal acne, many people are not clear about it. How to care for newborn acne? Is it the same as caring for acne? Perhaps in most people's minds, acne usually only appears in adolescence, and acne has nothing to do with newborns. In fact, acne is not uncommon among newborns. Because the baby obtains too much male hormone in the mother's body, the sebaceous glands secrete vigorously after birth, which leads to the growth of neonatal acne. How to take care of newborn acne? Let’s take a look!

1. Pay attention to your baby's skin hygiene.

We must take good care of the cleaning of our baby's skin and keep it dry and clean at all times. Your baby's face should be washed every day with clean water of appropriate temperature, but avoid using overheated or overcooled water to irritate the skin; the towel used for washing the face should be soft and comfortable pure cotton, and care should be taken to keep the towel clean and hygienic, and regularly soak it in hot water or expose it to the sun to disinfect and sterilize it; use a mild and pure baby bath gel or soap to wash the face to remove excess oil from the baby's face.

2. Prevent squeezing and provide appropriate treatment.

When parents find that their child has neonatal acne on his face, they should be careful not to squeeze or scratch the pimples on the baby's face: first, it will cause pain to the baby; second, it may cause infection; third, there is the fear of scars forming after healing. Therefore, remember to trim your baby's nails in time and put finger gloves on him if necessary. If the infection is severe, antibiotics should be used rationally under the guidance of a dermatologist.

3. Mothers should pay attention to dietary balance, eat less candy and sweets, avoid high-fat and spicy foods, and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. This will help the breast milk to be clean, and the child will benefit from the recovery of the baby after drinking such breast milk.

4. Let your baby drink more boiled water, do not feed him sugar water or other beverages, pay attention to the child's smooth bowel movements and prevent constipation.

Finally, one point that needs to be mentioned in particular is that the baby's skin has a tendency to heal itself. Parents should not be too anxious when they see their baby develop neonatal acne, and take medications on their own initiative. It is best not to use corticosteroid drugs such as Pi Yan Ping and Fu Qing Song easily, so as to avoid consequences such as dilation of the baby's skin capillaries, leaving acne scars on the baby's delicate skin.
