Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children is a particularly serious disease for children. It is also a disease that parents are particularly worried about. In particular, we need to pay close attention to our children in normal times. If we find that our children are impulsive, hyperactive, inattentive, and easily angry, we must pay attention to it. In this case, the child may have ADHD, and we need to go to the hospital for examination with the child. What examinations are needed for children with ADHD? 1. Neurophysiological testing: Neurophysiological testing directly detects the overall physiological function of the nervous system. Commonly used measurement methods are shown in Table 10-1. The most common measurement method is the electroencephalogram, which is often used to detect ADHD. 2. Behavioral examination: Since ADHD has long been believed to be associated with mild brain dysfunction (MBD), most detection methods are targeted at MBD, especially neurological examinations and electroencephalograms, but these methods have certain limitations. In all cases, it is of great value to monitor specific behaviors and interactions between children. 3. The ADHD detection method recommended by R.A. Barkley (1981) is an example. This method mainly includes three contents: interviews with children, parents and teachers; behavioral scales; direct observation testing. 4. Children's proofreading test: Give the children several pages of paper with single numbers other than 1 and 9 written on them. The examiner reads the numbers and the subjects look at the numbers on the paper. When the examiner reads out a number that is different from the number written on the paper, the subjects should cross out this number. The scoring standard is the number of missed or incorrect strokes. 5. Graphic matching test: Give children some graphics, some of which are standard graphics, and ask them to choose a graphic that is exactly the same as the standard graphic in the question. Through the above introduction, we know what examinations are needed for children with ADHD. The above examinations can be used to confirm whether the child has ADHD. If the child is diagnosed, he or she needs to receive systematic treatment in a regular hospital. In addition, during the treatment, the child’s life, diet and psychology should also be adjusted. |
