How to reduce the fever of children with fever of 37.5

For the vast majority of children, the chance of having a fever is relatively high. Under normal circumstances, many children have a fever of 37.5 degrees. However, such a fever temperature can cause great harm to children, so timely cooling is necessary. So how do you reduce the temperature when a child has a fever of 37.5? Regarding this issue, I will give you a detailed introduction below.

The baby's body temperature is generally normal between 36.5 and 37.4 degrees. Your baby's temperature is 37.5 degrees, which is not within the normal range. The baby has a low fever. Physical cooling methods can be used to reduce the temperature. Generally, if the baby's body temperature is not higher than 38.5°C, physical cooling is often adopted. If the baby's temperature exceeds 38.5 degrees, medication should be used to cool down the baby under the guidance of a doctor.

Common physical cooling methods include:

1. Wipe with alcohol to cool down. Use a small towel or several pieces of gauze dipped in 35% to 50% diluted alcohol, and wipe the child's neck, armpits, elbows, and thighs, avoiding the chest and abdomen. During the operation, observe the child's skin color, breathing, and pulse, and measure the temperature again after half an hour.

2. Use ice packs to cool down. Wrap ice cubes in cloth or towel and place it under the child's head. You can test the temperature after about half an hour. If the baby's temperature is still above 38 degrees, you can replace it with a new ice pack and continue to use it. When the temperature drops below 38 degrees, you can remove the ice pack.

3. Apply cold and wet compress to reduce fever. Fold the towel into two or four layers, soak it in ice water or cold water, take it out and wring out some water so that the towel does not drip, place the towel on the baby's forehead, and you can use two towels to replace them. You can stop using it when the body temperature drops below 38 degrees. If the high fever persists, you can place a few towels on the neck or thighs to enhance the antipyretic effect. If the baby has chills, stop using it immediately.

4. Take a warm water bath. Use warm water 2 degrees lower than body temperature and soak twice a day for 30 minutes each time.

For ordinary children, when the fever reaches 37.5 degrees, you can consider using physical cooling methods to reduce the temperature first. Generally, as long as the operation is proper, the effect is quite obvious. Of course, if these methods are not very effective, then parents and friends should pay attention. At this time, it is best to go to the hospital to see a doctor.
