When teenagers grind their teeth, many people can't figure out what causes it. Teenagers should be the happiest time of their lives. The phenomenon of children's teeth grinding needs to find the right cause before timely treatment. So what is the cause of teenagers' teeth grinding?

He often makes a clicking sound when he sleeps at night, but when he is asked in the morning, he doesn't know what's going on. This kind of teeth grinding is called nocturnal bruxism in medicine.

Bruxism is the unconscious grinding or clenching of the upper and lower teeth against each other while a person is asleep or awake. Since teeth grinding is often accompanied by a "crunching" sound, it is also commonly called "grinding teeth". Because it mostly occurs during sleep at night, it is also called "sleep bruxism".

Medical experts point out that because teeth grinding causes the teeth to knock together strongly without any food to relieve the pain, the protective material on the surface of the teeth is excessively worn away, exposing the dentin underneath the protective material. In mild cases, the patient may be allergic to stimulating foods such as cold, hot, sour, and sweet; in severe cases, the condition may lead to frequent bleeding and inflammation of the gums, loose teeth, and even tooth loss.

In addition, long-term bruxism can cause a series of complications. For example, long-term teeth grinding leads to the chewing muscles not getting rest, causing fatigue and pain in the chewing muscles and cheek pain. In severe cases, it can cause headaches, neck and back pain, etc. It can also lead to decreased sleep quality, memory loss, bad breath or bad breath, damage hearing and taste, and cause psychological depression, pessimism, and even suicide.

People are in the period of replacing teeth between the ages of 6 and 13, and they will grind their teeth to adapt to the grinding of the upper and lower teeth. However, if teenagers and adults who have passed the tooth replacement period often grind their teeth, it is a pathological condition.

If a child's teeth grinding is too severe, then the child must be sent to the hospital in time. Only after the above diagnosis and knowledge can the child's teeth grinding phenomenon be treated in time. In fact, children's teeth grinding is often not caused by disease, but the child's study pressure is too great, so the phenomenon of teeth grinding occurs. If a child grinds his teeth, it is necessary to improve the child's psychological pressure in this regard.
