Specific manifestations of ADHD in children

ADHD is a common psychological disease in children. Children with this disease generally have normal intelligence, but have characteristics that are inconsistent with their actual age, such as inattention, excessive activity, impulsiveness, willfulness, and poor self-control. If not corrected, it will affect children's learning. According to a survey, the incidence rate of ADHD is about 3%, and the incidence rate in boys is about 4-9 times that of girls.

1. These children engage in too many aimless activities. For example, during class, naughty children may do small movements intentionally to attract other people's attention or just for fun. But it is different for children with ADHD. They keep moving as if they are not under the control of their consciousness, such as shaking the table and chair aimlessly. Even if they are reminded, stopped or criticized by the teacher, they will immediately repeat the original small movements involuntarily, or change to flipping through books randomly, looking around, and moving around, accompanied by biting pencils, cutting erasers, and provoking classmates sitting next to them. He usually moves his hands and feet around aimlessly, rushes around and runs around aimlessly, has poor self-control, and can't wait to interrupt adults when they are talking. They often behave inexplicably and provocatively towards their companions.

2. These children have difficulty concentrating. They play while doing their homework, make random changes, stand up and move around without thinking, or interrupt others while they are doing their homework. It is rare to be fully focused and absorbed in doing something.

3. These children have poor self-control. When they are having fun, they shout, run, jump, dance, get inexplicably excited, cannot control themselves, and become carried away. They cannot have a restrained psychological reaction to adults' bored expressions or attempts to stop them. When subject to coercive restraint, instead of calming down, they display temper tantrums, unhappiness, venting frustration, and engaging in hostile and confrontational behavior. It makes adults feel annoyed and helpless, and makes peers hate, fear and stay away from them, so they are not sociable and are not respected by others.

4. Poor motor coordination and impairment of perception, language and memory. For example, they take a long time to recognize symbols and sounds, cannot understand their meaning, have lower language level than children of the same age, remember things slowly but forget things quickly, etc.

Being lively and active is a child's nature, but children with the above-mentioned behaviors may be a little abnormal. Parents should pay attention.

The above is an introduction to whether ADHD will affect intelligence. Now you should have an understanding of it. The care of children cannot be ignored. I hope this article is helpful to you and I hope every child can grow up healthily.
