The incidence of asthma is very high around the world, generally between 0.1% and 32%. This is a gap of nearly 300 times. There are many reasons for the gap. It may be due to genetic reasons, age or geographical location, or even one's own interior decoration or living standards and eating habits, etc., which may affect the onset of asthma. So what should we do if a child suffers from asthma? Can children with asthma be cured? Let’s take a look at it together below. 1. Avoid contact with allergens and identify triggering factors Treatment requires a detailed understanding of the triggering factors and details of each attack, attention to preventing respiratory infections, eliminating lesions (such as timely treatment of sinusitis, nasal polyps, tonsillitis, dental caries, etc.), and avoiding overwork, rain, running, and mental and emotional stimulation. Try to avoid contact with and promptly deal with known allergens, such as contact with pollen, use of aspirin and other medications, and if conditions permit, improve the environment or move to a different place of living. 2. Immunotherapy It is divided into nonspecific immunotherapy and specific desensitization therapy. In recent years, methods such as thymosin, inactivated BCG, bronchitis vaccine, nuclear casein, measles vaccine, and placental lipopolysaccharide have been used. The purpose of these treatments is to stimulate the body's immune function, enhance lymphocyte proliferation, and produce nonspecific IgG, thereby improving the patient's immune function. 3. Desensitization therapy Another type is desensitization therapy, which is suitable for extrinsic asthma. 4. Stabilize cell membrane The purpose of preventing asthma attacks can be achieved by stabilizing the mast cell membrane, inhibiting mast cell degranulation, and thus preventing the release of chemical mediators. A. Cromolyn sodium is the preferred preventive drug. This drug is not absorbed in the intestines and requires 20 mg of half powder to be placed in a spray inhaler and inhaled 3 to 4 times a day. Generally, the effect will appear after 2 to 4 weeks, and the course of treatment is 4 to 6 months. However, this drug has no bronchodilating effect and is ineffective for acute attacks. For some children, inhaling this drug may induce bronchial asthma. B. Ketotifen can be taken orally and also has the function of stabilizing mast cell membranes and anti-histamine effects. It is suitable for all types of asthma. The dosage is 0.08-0.12 mg/kg/d, and it should be taken for at least 6-12 months. However, the drug's bronchial dilation effect is not strong. It is currently widely used to prevent asthma attacks. Side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, etc., which are less common in children than in adults. The above are several treatments for children with asthma. In fact, there is another method that can prevent asthma, that is regular exercise. Because children with long-term asthma need more physical exercise. If the body is well exercised, the metabolism and blood circulation will be accelerated, thereby improving the respiratory function and strengthening the muscles, which is good for the body. In addition, you can also use traditional Chinese medicine methods, such as treating winter diseases in summer. |
