Will long-term diarrhea in babies cause blood in the stool? How to treat it?

In July and August after birth, many babies are just exposed to human food for the first time, so it is normal for them to have gastrointestinal discomfort caused by food. Because the baby previously relied on breast milk to provide all the growth needs of the baby, as the baby continues to grow and the calorie intake continues to increase, the demand for many foods becomes higher and higher. Will long-term diarrhea lead to bloody stools? This has become a concern for many mothers.

When raising a baby, a mother may be most concerned about his eating. What can the baby eat? What can he eat? How much can he eat? When can he eat some food other than milk? ... Breast milk or formula milk are only the baby's early food. As he grows, he needs some suitable transitional food to allow the baby's stomach and intestines to slowly adapt to and digest solid food over a period of time, and absorb the nutrients needed for his growth.

Mothers must pay attention that the digestion and absorption system of babies under 3 months old cannot accept complex food structures. If you add supplementary food to the baby too early, it will cause indigestion, put great pressure on the immature kidneys, and leave hidden dangers.

When can complementary foods be added?

During the first few weeks of life, breast milk provides all the calories your growing baby needs. As he grows day by day, the calories he needs will gradually increase, and the baby will need more and more milk. You will feel that after one month, although the baby eats less frequently throughout the day and the time between feedings gradually lengthens, the amount of milk he sucks each time is increasing.

After 3 months, you will find that your baby will ask you to feed him not long after each feeding, and this request is very urgent. This is because the amount of milk the baby sucks at each meal is limited by the stomach capacity. Although the baby tries his best to suck a lot and eats very full each time, the calories obtained are quickly consumed by rapid growth. If your baby shows this sign for several days in a row, it means that breast milk can no longer meet his growth needs and you should start adding complementary foods to your baby.

What complementary foods to add

At the beginning, you can add some rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, juice and vegetable soup to your baby's daily milk.

Rice paste can generally be prepared using the "baby nutritional rice flour" sold on the market, or you can grind the rice and make it yourself. When purchasing ready-made baby rice cereal, you should pay attention to your baby's age and prepare the rice cereal according to the product's instructions. The juice should be squeezed from fresh fruit and diluted with an equal amount of boiling water. Sugar, salt or even MSG and other seasonings should not be added when making vegetable soup.

After the child is seven or eight months old, many mothers will find that the baby will continue to breastfeed soon after eating. The baby will always cry and be restless because he is not full. This is because breast milk can no longer meet the baby's needs. It is necessary to give the baby some rice porridge, vegetable juice, porridge, etc. in time. Will long-term diarrhea cause bloody stools? In fact, it will not, as long as the baby's gastrointestinal conditioning is good.
