What should I do if my child has a fever in June?

Many children are young and just born, especially some infants and young children, whose body resistance is very poor. If parents do not take good care of their children during this period and let their children catch cold, they are very likely to catch a cold. When there is a fever, many parents are usually caught off guard and at a loss as to what to do. Let me introduce it to you below!

The most common characteristic of illness in infancy is high fever. The recurrence is because the disease has not yet completed its course and the treatment course has not yet been completed. Generally, when babies are infected with viruses, the fever can last for about 5 days. For babies with good physical constitution, the fever can last less than 5 days.

Your baby has a high fever now, which generally indicates that the baby has an emergency, infection, or inflammatory lesions. This can be confirmed by checking the blood routine. Therefore, parents should take their babies to the Children's Hospital for blood tests and receive targeted treatment. Once the condition is under control, the symptom of fever will disappear.

Antipyretic is only an auxiliary treatment in the entire treatment process, its purpose is to relieve symptoms and prevent high fever convulsions.

If the baby's temperature exceeds 38.5 degrees, medication is needed to reduce the temperature. Children's hospitals usually use Tylenol or Motrin to reduce fever. Both drugs have been used clinically for many years and are relatively safe and reliable. The interval between two doses of medication is 6-8 hours. If the baby's temperature rises again within 6-8 hours, physical cooling should still be used. Measure your body temperature before using the medicine. It can be used again only if it exceeds 38.5 degrees. Areas for physical cooling: forehead, both sides of the neck, (in summer) both sides of the armpits, both sides of the groin. Taking a warm bath can reduce the temperature by 0.3-0.5 degrees.

Drink plenty of water to ensure that the body has sufficient energy and water. Drinking water helps to sweat and dissipate heat, lower body temperature and replenish the water lost by the child's body.

If the child's fever has not been relieved by the above methods, then it is very likely that the child has some special disease. It is recommended that you take the child to the hospital for a more detailed examination in time. It is best to go to a more professional large hospital, so that you can effectively check what disease the child has and provide professional treatment.
