Many parents will encounter a common problem, which is what to do if the baby is picky about food? Babies can usually be weaned when they are one year old and can eat foods that are easier to digest. When they are two years old, their bodies are growing and developing rapidly, so adequate nutrition is very necessary. However, if the baby is picky about food, it will seriously affect the child's absorption of nutrients. Here we will give you some tips on how to deal with baby's picky eating.

Adjust your diet. The food given to children should be diversified, not only in variety but also in preparation methods. This will effectively improve children's anorexia and picky eating symptoms. You can eat noodles today, steamed buns tomorrow, and rice the day after tomorrow; similarly, you can boil eggs today, steam them tomorrow, and fry them the day after tomorrow, and so on. If your child really doesn't like a certain food, you can change its shape by chopping it, pureeing it, juicing it, or cutting it into molds, and then add it to other foods and cook it together. This way, your child will like to eat it. If you have time, you can make pasta (such as rice) into cartoon characters (see the picture below) to stimulate children's appetite.

Create a relaxed dining atmosphere. Many children become anorexic and picky eaters because adults constantly urge them or even scold them, which makes the children irritable and restless, and they like to eat even less. Adults should patiently persuade and use soft words to convince children to eat. Make the dining atmosphere more relaxed and the child will gradually accept the food. After all, eating happily is more conducive to digestion and absorption. Therefore, adults must be patient when eating and never beat or scold children. In addition, try not to watch TV or read books while eating to avoid affecting your child's eating.

Control your intake of snacks. Many children like snacks, and it is okay to eat some between meals. However, adults must control the amount of food children eat. They cannot eat too much, otherwise it will affect the children's normal eating habits and gradually cause anorexia and picky eating. When eating snacks, choose those from regular manufacturers and avoid choosing very salty or spicy snacks, as those will seriously affect children's digestive function. It is better to eat some children's calcium milk biscuits or nuts.

If a baby around two years old has a picky eating habit, parents should start from the child's psychological perspective and talk to the child about the importance of food to our body. Parents can stay with the child, eat with the child, and encourage the child more. However, children have relatively small appetites, so don’t force them to eat too much at one time.
