What are the dietary precautions for young children?

In our lives, compared with adults, children's growth and development speed is very fast. They need more adequate nutritional supplements, so their dietary care should be paid special attention in our lives. Therefore, parents must pay special attention to their children's diet when taking care of them. What are the dietary principles for children and how to arrange three meals a day? Now let me tell you!

1. Dietary principles: Children aged 1-2 years old need about 1000 kcal of energy and 35 grams of protein per day. Children aged 2-3 years old need about 1200 kcal of energy and 40 grams of protein, with fat accounting for about 35% and carbohydrates accounting for about 50%.

Pay attention to adequate intake of calcium, iron, zinc and iodine, and ensure adequate supply of vitamin AD and other vitamins. It is worth noting that breastfed children are generally not prone to calcium deficiency, but the iron content in breast milk is low and should be supplemented from the diet. Although vitamin AD is important for growth and development, long-term excessive consumption can cause poisoning.

2. Meal arrangement: three meals a day and 2-3 snacks. Breakfast should include a certain amount of carbohydrates and protein, providing 25% of the day's energy and nutrients. Lunch should be rich in variety and nutrition, providing 30-35% of the day's energy and nutrients. Dinner should be based on nutritious and easily digestible foods, such as chicken, pork liver, steamed fish and other easily digestible meats. Dinner accounts for 25-30% of the daily nutrients.

Additional meals account for 15-20%. But it should be noted that: you should gradually develop a good habit of not eating anything except milk after dinner, especially avoid eating sweets before going to bed. Daily dairy products should not be less than 350 ml, and animal liver should be consumed at least once and fish twice a week (including once with seafood) to meet the needs of young children for vitamin A, iron, zinc and iodine.

After reading the editor’s explanation of dietary care for young children above, I believe that all parents should already know that nutritional supplements for children are not just about eating nutritious foods, but more attention should be paid to the combination of diet. For children, in order to grow up healthily, in addition to paying attention to diet, they should also do more outdoor exercise to enhance their resistance.
