How to treat toothache in children?

Toothache is a common oral disease in children. Swollen and painful gums, inflamed gums, and tooth decay can all cause toothache. Toothache is closely related to children’s bad living habits, so parents should do a good job of guiding their children in daily life and help them develop good living habits. So, how to cure toothache in children? Let’s learn the specific methods together!

When a child has toothache, parents can use the hand massage method, that is, take a piece of ice and rub the "V" area connected to the thumb and index finger bones, and gently press the ice on this area for 5-7 minutes, and the toothache will naturally be relieved. Studies have found that this method can relieve pain by 50%. Because some experts point out that hand massage can relieve toothache by interfering with the conduction of toothache nerve impulses.

Aloe vera can be used for treatment. Cut a small piece of aloe vera, peel off the skin, and hold the pulp containing sticky liquid in the painful area. Continue for 2-4 hours and the pain will be relieved by itself. Or use salt water to rinse your mouth. After meals and before going to bed, add 1 teaspoon of salt to about 230ml of warm water. Use this solution to rinse your mouth. Do not swallow it.

Then use ice, just like you would a bruise. Applying ice to the cheek closest to the painful area may relieve pain. Apply for 15 minutes each time, at least 3-4 times a day. In addition, you can also use ginger to relieve toothache, as ginger has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. When you have a toothache, take a piece of fresh ginger and bite it on the painful tooth. You can repeat it if necessary.

When it comes to how to treat children's toothache, the key is to let children develop a habit of brushing their teeth and keeping clean. The methods introduced above can only treat the symptoms but not the root cause. They can be prevented before toothache occurs, but if the child has severe toothache and cannot eat, it is recommended to see a dentist for the most professional treatment.
