At what age is it normal for children to change their teeth?

I believe everyone must know the importance of teeth to us. Our teeth play the role of chewing things. If there is a problem with our teeth, it will not only bring us pain but also easily affect our image. Therefore, everyone must pay attention to protecting their teeth in daily life. Below we will introduce to you at what age it is normal for children to change teeth.

Children start to change their teeth when they are seven or eight years old. This is the rule of children's tooth replacement that people often talk about. Children's tooth replacement refers to the time when the deciduous teeth fall out on their own and the new permanent teeth erupt, that is, the time when the deciduous and permanent teeth exchange shifts. The replacement of deciduous and permanent teeth does not take place in a short period of time such as a few months or a year. The 20 deciduous teeth and permanent teeth do not take over at the same time, and the time taken is relatively long, about 6 to 7 years to complete the handover task. When does the tooth replacement begin? This varies from person to person and is related to the child's gender, nutrition, development, etc. For example, according to current clinical observations, girls replace their teeth earlier than boys, and those with good nutrition and early development replace their teeth earlier than those with poor nutrition and delayed development.

However, the time and order of replacement of deciduous and permanent teeth follow certain rules. Generally speaking, when most children are six years old, the first permanent molar (i.e. the sixth-year molar) begins to erupt behind the second deciduous molar. Soon or at the same time, the deciduous lower front teeth and the permanent lower front teeth begin to be replaced, followed by the lower deciduous lateral incisors and the permanent lateral incisors, and then the upper incisors begin to be replaced. This replacement continues until about 12 years old, or later until about 14 years old. According to survey data, the normal time when children begin to replace their teeth is: 6 to 7 years old for deciduous central incisors, 7 to 8 years old for deciduous lateral incisors, 9 to 12 years old for deciduous canines, 9 to 11 years old for first deciduous molars, and 10 to 12 years old for second deciduous molars. Therefore, the period of tooth replacement is a critical period for a person. If you want to have white, neat and healthy teeth throughout your life, you must pay attention to the hygiene of the dental cavity during the period of tooth replacement and keep a good tooth replacement.

Most children begin to change their teeth when they are five or six years old, and some begin as early as four years old. Some children may not lose their first deciduous tooth until they are seven years old. This is caused by individual differences among children, so parents do not need to worry. Generally, tooth loss starts with the two lower front teeth, followed by the two upper front teeth.
