Classification of children's myopia, distinguish true from false and prescribe the right medicine

Children's myopia is different from adult myopia. Although many parents protect their children's eyes intentionally or unintentionally, many children still suffer from myopia due to various reasons. Parents are very worried about this and feel it is a pity. Having a pair of bright eyes is very important for everyone, not to mention that children's life is still very long, so we must find a way to treat children's myopia. Different types of children's myopia have different treatment methods. Let's take a look at the detailed introduction below.

Classification of myopia in children

Walking on the streets, we can see many children wearing big-frame glasses at a young age, which is not very good-looking. In fact, there are many types of myopia in children. Some are congenital, some are acquired, some are more serious, and some are milder and can be corrected. So, what is the classification of myopia in children? Let us introduce it in detail below.

Myopia can be divided into mild myopia, moderate myopia and severe myopia according to the degree. Myopia can be divided into axial myopia and refractive myopia according to the structure that changes. According to the course of the disease, it can be divided into initial myopia, progressive myopia, and malignant myopia. According to genetic correlation, it can be divided into hereditary myopia and non-hereditary myopia. Myopia can be divided into simple myopia, myopic astigmatism, and compound myopic astigmatism. According to the regulatory factors, it is divided into true myopia and pseudomyopia.

Children's myopia: distinguish true from false myopia and prescribe the right medicine

When a child shows symptoms of myopia, the first thing to do is to determine whether the child has true myopia or false myopia. The best way to distinguish true from false myopia is to go to a professional hospital for mydriasis refraction.

If it is confirmed that it is just pseudomyopia, then as long as you supervise the child to use his eyes correctly, get proper rest and treatment, he can restore normal vision.

If a child is diagnosed with true myopia and the myopia is above 100 degrees, he or she will have to wear glasses to correct his or her vision. Once the glasses are put on, they cannot be taken off easily. Keep the eyes in a emmetropia state to relieve vision.

Ophthalmologists suggest that children with myopia can improve their vision by fitting them with orthokeratology lenses. Orthokeratology lenses are hard contact lenses with multi-curved inverted geometry designed and processed through digital precision calculations. They are mainly used to curb the further lengthening of the eye axis in adolescents, thereby controlling and treating the development of myopia in adolescents.

Pseudomyopia treatment

1. Combine work and rest to prevent eye diseases.

2. Eye movement method. As the head rotates up, down, left, and right, the eyeballs move with it.

3. Eye gymnastics. Point your middle finger between the eye sockets and the bridge of the nose, and rub your face back and forth with your palm for five minutes. Then slowly move your neck left and right, then close your eyes, and tap the back of your neck ten times with your fists.

4. Blinking method. Tilt your head back and blink frequently to get the blood flowing. When your eyes are slightly tired, just blink 2-3 times.

5. Alternate hot and cold compresses. Soak one towel in hot water that is slightly hotter than bath water, and soak another towel in cold water with ice cubes. Place the hot towel on your eyes for about five minutes, and then place the cold towel on your eyes for five minutes.

6. Look far and near. Look into the distance for three minutes, then look at your palms for 1-2 minutes, and then look into the distance again. By switching between near and far views several times, you can effectively eliminate eyestrain.

Nutrients that myopic people need to supplement

1. Zinc: Myopic patients are generally deficient in chromium and zinc. They should eat more foods rich in zinc. Foods such as soybeans, almonds, seaweed, kelp, yellow croaker, flour, tea, meat, liver, etc. contain a lot of zinc and chromium, which can be increased in appropriate amounts.

2. Vitamins: essential nutrients for the human body. Although the human body needs them in small quantities, they play an extremely important role in the body's material and energy metabolism. When treating myopia with diet therapy, you should supplement more vitamins A, B1, B2, C and E.

3. Protein: As for the sclera, it can become the tough outer shell of the eyeball because it contains a variety of essential amino acids, forming a very strong fibrous tissue. Although the sclera has a certain degree of toughness, it is still relatively weak in the anterior-posterior diameter of the eye axis.

4. Calcium: Calcium is the main component of bones and also the main component of sclera. The high calcium content plays a major role in enhancing the toughness of the sclera.

It can be seen that there are many types of myopia in children. No matter which type of myopia a child has, parents should urge their children not to let their myopia become worse. They must protect their eyes in daily life. Whether it is eye exercises or nutritional diet, basic care must be done, and it is best to seek the advice of a doctor.
