What to do if your child's throat is red and swollen

When the baby grows up, he or she starts to speak, and the parents' concern for the child has not diminished at all. However, the body resistance of babies in early childhood is still very low. Some children often catch colds, have fevers, and have red and swollen throats when they go to kindergarten. Their parents are very worried. If the child cannot go to kindergarten, the parents have to take leave and stay at home. How should we deal with such conditions in children, and more importantly, how to prevent them? Let's talk about the treatment and prevention of red and swollen throats in young children.

First of all, we need to determine the cause of the child's red and swollen throat. Colds, tonsillitis, and inflammation can all cause red and swollen throat, but ultimately they are all attributed to viral or bacterial infections. Red throat is a manifestation of congestion of blood vessels in the pharyngeal isthmus and is a defensive reaction of the body to stimulation. It can be caused by children talking too much, crying, coughing, the early stages of a cold, or external stimuli (too cold, too hot, eating heavy food, etc.).

Talking a lot and crying: This situation happens more often. Parents should try their best to calm the baby and avoid prolonged stimulation. Cough (caused by cold air or inhalable particles in the morning): This problem can be solved by putting a mask on your baby before going out. It should be noted that the masks currently available on the market are relatively thin. After buying them, you can sew two layers of gauze on the inner layer to keep warm and prevent inhalable particles. External stimulation: The child ate too cold, too hot or strong-tasting food the night before, which irritated the mucous membrane and caused it to not recover the next day. Because the baby's organs are relatively delicate, parents should try to choose authentic food for their children, and also control the temperature. 40℃ is the best. If you eat cold drinks, drink in moderation.

When a child's throat is red, drinking more water is helpful for recovery, because water can accelerate the excretion of toxins and prevent a vicious cycle of dry throat → cough → red throat. There are also some rules for drinking water here. You should drink small amounts of water multiple times and not drink too much at one time. Otherwise, it will only put a burden on the kidneys and will not allow the cells to get enough water.

Take your baby outdoors for exercise more often. Physical training can enhance the child's resistance and is more effective than taking medicine. In addition, you should actively take preventive measures. You can put some salt in the baby's mouthwash. Light salt water has a bactericidal effect. Often boil some pear water for the baby to drink to clear the lungs, relieve cough and reduce phlegm. Now there is smog in many places, and drinking more water is also good for the baby's health.
