What are the treatments for mild anemia in children?

Anemia is not limited to age. Even newborn babies can suffer from anemia, and the elderly with weak bodies can also suffer from anemia. The most common cause of anemia in children is closely related to their diet. Many foods contain iron. When patients do not like to eat these foods, but the body needs this element, anemia will occur. Mild anemia is easier to treat. What are the treatments for mild anemia in children?

Iron deficiency anemia is very common in children under two years old. The general symptoms are pale face, lips and nails. Children with severe symptoms may show signs of mental fatigue, poor appetite, and crying.

Treatment of mild anemia does not necessarily require iron supplementation; iron supplementation through food alone can be used. According to nutritionists, foods rich in iron include animal liver, egg yolk, red dates, beans, lean meat, kelp, mullet, shrimp, seaweed, black fungus, mushrooms, etc. As long as these foods are eaten properly, they can meet children's body needs for iron and play a role in preventing and treating iron deficiency anemia.

Clinical studies have shown that the scientific use of food to supplement iron does have significant therapeutic effects on mild anemia. A three-month observation on food iron supplementation was conducted on children with mild anemia, with the method of eating three meals of red date porridge and one meal of carrot and pork liver stir-fry every day. Observations show that dietary iron supplementation can significantly improve anemia symptoms. Liu Shenghui and others pointed out that the effect of iron supplementation through food may not be as obvious as that through drug supplementation in the short term, but to fundamentally solve the problem of iron deficiency, food supplementation is the simplest, most economical and effective method, and it can avoid the side effects of drugs. Therefore, it is concluded that for mild anemia with no obvious symptoms or to prevent iron deficiency, it is better to use food to supplement iron. For mild anemia with obvious symptoms, oral iron supplementation can be used once a week on the basis of food supplementation (the dosage is 8 mg of elemental iron per kilogram of body weight). For moderate or severe anemia, small doses of iron can be used daily (the dosage is 1-2 mg of elemental iron per kilogram of body weight). Avoid coffee, strong tea and foods containing tannic acid during treatment. Once anemia is corrected, it is still necessary to continue to pay attention to iron supplementation through food to consolidate the therapeutic effect.

Note:

If it is mild anemia, you can adjust the diet and let your child eat more iron-rich foods, such as seafood, fish, shrimp, kelp, pork liver, lean meat, soy products also contain a certain amount of iron, sesame paste, etc. are all iron-rich foods. Avoid picky eating. If the case is more serious, such as moderate to severe anemia and hemoglobin is below 10 grams, iron supplements are needed. We often use ferric sulfate and ferrous sulfate, and we also take vitamin C to promote iron absorption.

When children have mild anemia, this should be taken seriously. Foods containing iron often have a fishy smell, and adults are reluctant to eat them, and of course children are also reluctant to eat them, such as animal livers. Children with the disease can eat more other iron-containing foods, such as eggs, seafood, etc. It is safest to regulate through diet, and there will be no side effects. At the same time, patients should have a reasonable diet, not be picky about food, and eat some food that is good for the body.
