How to relieve retching in newborns

How to relieve retching in newborns

Every time a newborn baby retches and asks for leave, most parents don’t know how to deal with it, which will make the baby’s condition become more and more serious. If it can be relieved in the first time, the baby’s growth and development will be better. The simplest way is to gently pat the baby’s back during feeding every day, which promotes their digestion and absorption. As long as the absorption is completed, the baby will not have symptoms such as retching again.

Neonatal feeding: excessive feeding, improper milk formula, swallowing of large amounts of air while feeding; infants and young children eating large amounts at one time or food that is difficult to digest.

In addition, digestive dysfunction: systemic infectious diseases, if you suffer from upper respiratory tract infection, pharyngitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia and other diseases, or at the same time as high fever, nausea, loss of appetite, often accompanied by dry retching.

Developmental problems : Due to the functional defects of the lower esophageal sphincter, gastric juice or bile flows back into the esophagus, causing dry retching. For some babies, this may last for several months and then gradually improve.

If your baby has dry retching, it is recommended to give him more warm water, change the types of food, and try to eat light and easily digestible complementary foods.

When bottle-feeding, the hole in the nipple should be of the right size and the nipple must be filled with milk to prevent the baby from inhaling air. If the baby is teething, you can use a nipple with larger holes to drink milk to reduce the pain caused by sucking.

After feeding, the baby should be gently picked up, with his head resting on the mother's shoulder, and the baby's back should be patted gently to allow the air in the stomach to be expelled. Do not change the baby's position frequently after feeding, change the diaper before feeding, and do not change the diaper for the time being after feeding.

There are many reasons for baby's dry retching, such as: pharyngitis, eating too fast, abnormal gastric digestion function, functional defects of the lower esophageal sphincter, etc. Mothers should pay attention to their baby's mood, milk intake, complementary food intake, meal intake, and bowel movements. If these aspects are normal, there is no need to worry too much. Indigestion is mainly a group of chronic or recurrent upper abdominal pain or discomfort (upper abdominal fullness, early satiety, burning sensation, belching, lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting, etc.). According to the pathogen, it can be divided into organic dyspepsia and functional dyspepsia. Indigestion is very common. In my country, 20%-30% of the general population have symptoms of indigestion. The child’s current retching is mainly considered to be caused by cold indigestion. Pay more attention to keeping warm, etc. You can use a hot water bottle to apply to the stomach, and use Mommy Love to regulate the intestines when necessary. Other symptomatic treatments.
