Is it normal for a one and a half year old baby to have thin and yellow hair?

Children are the apple of their parents' eyes and the continuation of their lives. Every parent gives all their love and hard work to their children, so every move of the baby touches the hearts of their parents. Many young parents will find that as their children grow up, the hair on their heads becomes less and turns yellow. This puzzles many people: why is the baby's hair sparse and yellow when he is about one year old? Is this normal?

There are many reasons for baldness on the back of the head. It may be due to insufficient nutrition intake by the mother during pregnancy, too hard pillow, or even calcium deficiency or a precursor to rickets. However, most baldness on the back of the head is often caused by physiological sweating and frequent friction between the head and the pillow. Babies spend most of their time lying in bed, and the place where their heads touch the pillows tends to get hot and sweaty, causing itchy skin on their heads. Babies usually "deal with" the itching on the back of their heads due to sweating by shaking their heads left and right. After frequent friction, the hair on the back of the head will be worn off and cause baldness on the back of the head.

Solution: Choose a breathable, moderately high, and soft pillow for your baby to ensure that the baby's head is dry; be sure to maintain an appropriate room temperature, as too high a temperature will cause sweating. Sunbathing is the most natural way to supplement calcium. Take your baby outdoors to bask in the sun every day. The ultraviolet rays can enable the body to synthesize vitamin D. If it is not a suitable season to go out, you can take an additional amount of calcium supplement according to the doctor's advice to meet the body's needs. For babies who have already started to eat complementary foods, supplementing calcium through various foods is not only beneficial to physical health, but also gives babies the opportunity to try more foods.

According to the reasons for thinning hair mentioned above, most of them are due to physiological excessive sweating and friction between the head and the pillow, so parents don’t need to worry. As long as the height and weight are normal, the hair problem will naturally get better as they grow out. Pay more attention to whether your baby's head is dry, and take your baby out to bask in the sun often to supplement vitamin D, so that your baby can grow up healthily.
