Introduction to baby's brain development time

There are many pregnant mothers who are eager to know the development of their children, but the mothers do not know the development of the fetus. So according to general rules, the baby's development is regular. You can go to the hospital for a check-up in time according to these conditions to see the development of the fetus. Next, we will introduce the baby's brain development time in detail.

The first stage is from pregnancy to birth. We call this stage the stage of brain growth. When a baby is born, its brain already has about 10 to 18 billion brain cells, close to that of an adult. This means that the number of brain cells in a baby has already grown from conception to birth.

In the second stage, after the baby is born, the brain enters a period of growth, and the volume of brain cells and many other things will also grow. After birth, "synapses" connecting nerve cells begin to form. The number of synapses reaches a peak at three months, and gray matter fat deposition is completed at three months. The DNA content stops increasing at six months. By 12 months, oligodendrocytes reach 70% of that in adults. The cerebellum is basically mature at three years old, and the myelination of nerves is basically completed at 3 to 4 years old.

Formation of Neural Networks

The myelin sheath of nerve fibers is like the insulating layer of an electrical wire, which enables neurons to transmit information accurately at a very fast speed, with clear division of labor and higher efficiency. When a baby is just born, there is very little myelin sheath on the nerve fibers, and the nerve fibers are very short and few in number. The myelination process of the nerve fibers is completed only when the baby is 3 to 4 years old.

60 to 80% of the surface area of neurons is occupied by synapses. If neurons have no synapses to connect them, they have no value and no matter how many there are, they are meaningless. At birth, the number of synapses is only 50 trillion, reaching a peak of about 100 trillion at 3 months, which is ten times that of 3 years old.

The above content is an introduction to the baby's brain development time. In fact, in life, we also need to take special care of pregnant women. Women will have many discomforts in their bodies during pregnancy, so it is important to supplement nutrition and conduct some necessary examinations in time to ensure the health of the fetus and reduce the possibility of deformities.
