What to do if your child has an eye infection

What to do if your child has an eye infection

I believe that older people have heard the advice from the older generation, which is to try not to pick your belly button with your hands, because the belly button is very fragile and picking it with your hands will cause stomach pain. The belly button is a part that falls off after the belly button is cut, so the belly button of a child is in a stage of continuous growth. If you find that your child's belly button is always inflamed, is it serious?

1. Is it really serious if a child has an inflamed belly button?

Although belly button inflammation is a minor problem, it still causes trouble because inflammation will cause itching, and the more itchy it is, the more you want to scratch it, especially when you are asleep, which unconsciously makes the inflammation worse. In addition to itching, pus is also discharged, which stains clothes. The more serious problem is that it produces an unacceptable odor.

When encountering inflammation, many people do not have timely and effective measures. They just rinse it with clean water, do not touch it, and wait for it to heal slowly. There are also methods such as iodine, mercurochrome, eye drops, etc. to reduce inflammation, and there are also folk remedies such as Chinese herbal medicine for filling. Some of these methods are effective, while others have side effects. In particular, the use of herbal fillings with unknown pharmacology can cause infection and aggravate the symptoms of inflammation. Many people encounter such troubles, and some people often have similar troubles due to their living and working environment.

Prepare medical hydrogen peroxide (3% concentration), find a comfortable recliner or sofa, then lie on your back, prepare paper towels (to prevent overflow onto fabrics or other metal furniture and components), then unscrew the bottle cap, remove the cork, and carefully drip into the affected area of the navel until it just stops overflowing. At this time, you will see a lot of small bubbles coming out. Don't worry, this is the release of oxygen, and of course it is also a manifestation of sterilization. You can gently knead the area around the navel to encourage it to penetrate all parts inside. Excess liquid can be wiped off promptly with a tissue. 2-3 times a day, using the same method each time. Then a little miracle happened again. After the first use of the medicine, all odors disappeared immediately, the itching sensation was immediately reduced or disappeared, and then the navel felt cool and cool. After 3-5 hours, it happened again, and again after taking a shower before going to bed. The next day, I felt relaxed and all my worries disappeared.

2. How to take care of a child's navel inflammation

Belly button inflammation is a very common minor ailment. Some children may injure their belly buttons while playing, which may lead to inflammation. Some cases may be caused by working environment. Unhygienic, humid, and stuffy environment may also lead to belly button inflammation, especially in obese people.

Inflammation of the belly button may be an umbilical infection. In mild cases, there will be local purulent secretions with a foul odor, and redness or swelling of the navel and surrounding skin. In severe cases, the infection spreads to form an abdominal wall infection and abscesses, or spreads to the peritoneum to cause peritonitis, and spreads throughout the body to cause sepsis.

Navel inflammation is common in newborns within one month after birth. After this time, the child's navel is rarely infected. If there is exudation or secretion, most of them are "navel fungus" or umbilical granuloma.

For adults, if the belly button becomes inflamed, the area can be cleaned with 3% hydrogen peroxide in mild cases, disinfected with 75% alcohol, and then applied with 2% gentian violet. For those with suppuration, furacillin or rafenol gauze can be applied externally, or the traditional Chinese medicine Jinhuangsan or Longgusan can be used externally. Of course, whether it is an adult or a child, when the navel becomes inflamed, it is best to go to the hospital for examination and take medication under the guidance of a doctor to avoid irreversible consequences due to improper use of medication.
