At what months can babies turn sideways?

As the baby grows up day by day, his every move will concern his parents. Under normal circumstances, newborn babies only sleep on their backs and do not sleep on their sides like adults. The main reason is that the baby is too young and his bones have not yet fully developed, so he cannot control his own body at this time. So the question is, when does the baby reach a certain age, can he sleep on his side?

Generally, babies can roll over by themselves at around three months old.

After your baby has grown from a soft body at birth to a slightly firmer body in two or three months, you can communicate with your baby more often using laughter and simple language.

Let your baby know that there are people around. When the baby is happy, he will smile. At this time, the baby cannot laugh too loudly, so don't tease him too much. When the baby is happy, you can slightly move one side of the baby's body, and turn the upper leg slightly to the corresponding direction. After turning over, hold the shoulders with both hands. Do not let the baby's face touch the blanket or bed, so as not to scare the baby. It is recommended that two people help the baby turn over once or twice a day at the beginning, for about 3-5 minutes; after more than three months, the time can be extended a little, up to about 10 minutes. It is not recommended to turn over too long, as too long will increase the baby's abdominal pressure. Remember not to practice turning over when you are full.

Generally, the newborn baby is carried by the mother. It is not recommended to let the baby sleep on his side for more than one month.

When the baby is one and a half months old or two or three months old, it is recommended that the mother sleep on her side to feed the baby at night. This action is very natural. On the one hand, the baby needs to feed, and on the other hand, it allows the baby to practice the habit of sleeping on the side. By changing the sideways sleeping position every day, the child's head tilt phenomenon will be cured.

After feeding, try to lay the baby flat to sleep to prevent the baby from waking up at night and lying flat on the blanket, which would scare the baby and cause crying. Practice more, and in the future, when the baby is feeding at night, the mother can also reduce the amount of holding.

The baby will practice and turn over. Remember, when the baby is sleeping during the day, there must be an adult by the bed so that the baby can wake up and turn over.

In the next two or three months, you only need to practice once or twice a day, not too much; after April, you can increase the practice time appropriately.
