Tuberculosis is a disease that can easily damage the human body. Because it is also contagious, the general treatment measure for this type of disease is hospitalization. However, the time of occurrence of many diseases or the age of patients is very wide. Since infants and young children have weak resistance, some diseases will occur in children. So what are the symptoms of tuberculosis in babies? Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that can invade many organs, with pulmonary tuberculosis infection being the most common. People who excrete bacteria are an important source of infection. A person does not necessarily develop tuberculosis after being infected with tuberculosis bacteria. Clinical illness may only occur when the body's resistance is reduced or cell-mediated allergic reactions increase. If diagnosed promptly and treated appropriately, most patients can recover clinically. (1) Tuberculosis allergic manifestations such as herpetic conjunctivitis, erythema nodosum, scrofulous facies, tuberculous rheumatism (Poncet's arthritis), etc. (2) Patients with acute onset of fever may have high fever and greatly fluctuating fever patterns, which are often manifestations of severe progressive tuberculosis, such as miliary tuberculosis and caseous pneumonia. However, most children present with irregular low-grade fever, with daily temperature fluctuations often exceeding 1°C in the afternoon. The fever is obvious, but the systemic symptoms are relatively mild, which is a characteristic of tuberculosis. (3) Neurological symptoms such as lack of energy, irritability, crying, disturbed sleep, as well as symptoms of autonomic dysfunction such as night sweats and facial flushing. (4) Symptoms of chronic poisoning include loss of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, temperament changes, developmental delay, etc. (5) Respiratory symptoms: In addition to enlarged lymph nodes compressing the bronchi, which can cause paroxysmal coughs and even dyspnea, and large amounts of pleural effusion, which can cause corresponding symptoms and signs, there are generally few respiratory symptoms. There may be no or few positive signs. Its characteristic is that respiratory symptoms and signs are inconsistent with X-ray changes. (6) Generalized lymphadenopathy. Symptoms of early tuberculosis poisoning include varying degrees of generalized lymphadenopathy, but the lymph nodes are soft. In chronic tuberculosis poisoning, the swollen lymph nodes are hard and can be used as a reference for diagnosis. Therefore, when children show such symptoms, seek medical attention immediately and do not use some so-called folk remedies, as they may aggravate the child's condition. When local medical organizations are doing publicity, parents should learn some knowledge about early childhood disease prevention, because the environment in modern society is not optimistic and there are many new pathogens, which require more care and attention. |
