The reason why the child's chicken is red, swollen and pus-filled

Since children are in the early stages of growth and development, they are very likely to get sick because all parts of their bodies are relatively fragile. For boys, the genitals are also relatively fragile and easily infected. I believe that many parents will find that their children’s penises are red, swollen and pus-filled while taking care of their baby boys. This phenomenon may be largely caused by urethral suppurative infection and balanitis!

1. Causes of redness, swelling and pus discharge in children's vagina

If pus is discharged from the penis, if it comes from the urethra, it is considered to be a purulent infection of the urethra. The purulent secretions should be checked to determine whether it is gonorrhea or non-gonococcal infection. If the pus flows from the cavity of the glans penis, not from the urethra, it is balanitis. It is recommended that you take levofloxacin for treatment.

2. Urinary tract suppurative infection

UTI is an infection of the urinary tract caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi or various parasites. Pathogens usually enter the urinary tract by one of two routes. By far the most common route is through the lower end of the urinary tract - the opening at the end of the penis in men or the urethra at the vulva in women, resulting in ascending infection that spreads upward through the urethra; another possible route is through the bloodstream, directly infecting the kidneys. Urinary tract infections can be caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, or many parasites.

Urinary tract infections often have certain triggers, so the patient should be carefully examined for urinary tract stones, kidney or ureteral malformations, etc. In addition to drug treatment, drink plenty of water and keep the daily urine volume above 2000ml. This will play the role of urinary tract flushing, which is also very important for the treatment of urinary tract infection. In addition, gonococcal urethritis is also very common nowadays. If it occurs, it should be treated as gonorrhea first. A large amount of clinical experience has been accumulated in the use of traditional Chinese medicine to treat urinary tract infections. For example, herbs such as Isatis root, Dianthus chinensis, Patrinia salviae Miltiorrhizae, and Plantago asiatica can be used to clear away heat and detoxify. In addition, attention should be paid to strengthening nutrition and improving physical fitness.

3. Balanitis

Balanitis refers to inflammation of the inner lining of the foreskin and the glans penis. A lipid substance secreted in the normal foreskin cavity. When the foreskin is too long or phimosis occurs, this substance can accumulate into smegma, which can irritate the foreskin and glans penis and cause balanitis. This disease can also be caused by bacterial, fungal infection or drug allergy.

Candidal balanitis: It is more common in cases of excessive foreskin and a history of unclean sexual intercourse. The foreskin and glans of the penis are mildly flushed, and there may be white cheese-like secretions on the inner plate of the foreskin and the coronal sulcus of the glans. There may be needle-sized light red papules on the glans. If the outside of the foreskin and the scrotum are invaded, scaly erythema may be seen. If the navicular fossa is involved, symptoms such as frequent urination and painful urination may occur. There may be local burning sensation and itching. Occasionally, fulminant edematous balanitis may occur, with the main manifestations being obvious edema of the foreskin of the penis, severe itching, and shallow ulcers.
