What medicine should children take for roundworms?

Children often eat unclean things, which can easily lead to the appearance of intestinal parasites. Ascaris is the most common intestinal parasite. If there are ascaris in the stomach, children will often suffer from indigestion, loss of appetite, nausea, etc. Therefore, if you find that your child has symptoms of roundworms, you should give him or her medication in time. So what medicine should I take if I have roundworms in my stomach?

Lymphoproliferative manifestations: 100% of ALPS cases have splenomegaly, which is often discovered within 5 years of age and may even occur in the fetus. The degree of spleen enlargement varies. 74% of the patients underwent splenectomy due to hypersplenism or spleen rupture. 67% of the children had mild to moderate hepatomegaly, and abnormal liver function tests were occasionally found. About 97% of children have systemic superficial lymphadenopathy, and imaging can reveal enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes.

Ascariasis is one of the most common intestinal parasitic diseases in children. It can often affect children's appetite and intestinal digestion and absorption functions, hinder their growth and development, and cause more complications, which can be life-threatening in severe cases. Therefore, ascariasis should not be regarded as a minor problem for children, but active preventive measures should be taken. Deworming cannot be done blindly. Parents must first know whether their children are infected with roundworms.

Here are some ways to distinguish: Children often complain of stomach pain, especially around the navel, which can be relieved by massage. Children are easily awakened during sleep, grind their teeth and drool.

There are often pale white, nearly circular or oval patches on the face and neck of children, with small grayish white scales on them, commonly known as "worm spots". For no obvious reason, "wind bumps" often appear repeatedly on the children's skin. The child has picky eating habits and likes to eat strange things such as soil, paper, cloth, etc. The child eats a lot, is easily hungry, and loves to eat snacks, but he can never gain weight.

Once parents find that their children have the above symptoms, they should take them to the hospital for a stool test to check whether there are eggs in the stool. If it is confirmed that there are worm eggs, deworming treatment should be carried out. After the age of two, the usual drug treatment is enteroworm clearing, one tablet (0.2 tablets) per person at a time.

1. It is best to take anthelmintics on an empty stomach or before going to bed at night, because anthelmintics are less toxic. When taken on an empty stomach, the concentration of the drug in the intestine will be higher, which can improve the insecticidal effect. Taking levamisole insecticides with sugar water can not only improve the taste but also increase the efficacy.

2. The dosage should be sufficient. According to general medication experience, the dosage for children should be smaller than that for adults. However, the dosage of Enteroworm Clear is stipulated as: two tablets for everyone from children over two years old to adults, which makes some parents worry when giving the medicine to their children. In fact, after oral administration, most of the enteroworm clearing agent (95%) is not absorbed by the human body and is excreted with feces within 24 hours. Only 5% completes the task of killing larvae in tissues, adult worms and eggs in the intestines and is excreted with urine within 48 hours. This shows that Enterococcus aureus is a drug that is poorly absorbed and not easily accumulated in the body. Therefore, a single dose is often used clinically, without the need to calculate the dose based on body weight.
