How to feed babies scientifically

After the baby is born, every parent hopes that their baby will be healthy. However, for many new parents, due to lack of experience in childbirth, they do not know how to feed the baby. Some parents feed the baby according to their own ideas, which sometimes causes the baby to be hungry or full, which will affect the baby's health. It is very important to feed the baby scientifically. The following introduces scientific methods of feeding the baby.

How to feed babies scientifically?

Scientific feeding of the baby must first adopt the correct eating method. Breastfeeding is recognized as the best for babies because it contains all the nutrients needed for the baby's physical development and is easier to digest and more nutritionally complete than other dairy products.

Therefore, for women with sufficient breast milk, they must insist on breastfeeding. This should continue until the baby starts to add complementary foods so that the amount of breast milk can be gradually reduced. For women who do not have enough breast milk, they need to choose some formula milk that is tailored for their babies.

After the baby is five months old, the mother needs to start paying special attention to the addition of complementary foods. At this time, the addition of complementary foods is very important, which can meet the baby's increased and changing nutritional needs during the growth process.

When adding complementary foods, you must maintain a correct and scientific method and never add them randomly. When you first start adding it, you should start with something that is easy to digest and thinner, then gradually start to thicken it, and finally slowly give your child some solid food.

In addition, the addition of complementary foods must allow the child to have an adaptation process. At the beginning, a small amount should be added, and then gradually increased after the child's gastrointestinal function has adapted. The types of complementary foods added should also be kept from being simple to a variety of ingredients.

Scientific feeding time should be remembered

1. Feeding time. The older generation said half a day to a day. In fact, the best time to feed a newborn is half an hour after birth. Because colostrum is suitable for newborn babies, it contains dense nutrients and immunoglobulins that can prevent diseases and enhance immunity.

2. Take cod liver oil. Generally, babies of 2 or 3 weeks old can start feeding cod liver oil. Be sure to buy concentrated cod liver oil. Use a dropper to suck out a certain dose and then drop it into the corner of the baby's mouth or under the tongue, letting him lick it in slowly.

3. Add complementary food. Studies have shown that babies begin to enter a sensitive period of learning to chew and developing taste buds after 4 months. At 5 or 6 months, they already show a strong interest in food. The lactase in the intestines begins to become active and more amylase is secreted, so it is most appropriate to add complementary foods to the baby at this time. It is recommended to exclusively breastfeed babies who are less than 4 months old. There is no need to add any water, drinks or food. When adding complementary foods after 4 months, you should also pay attention to the method, because babies who are accustomed to breast milk will find it difficult to accept complementary foods of a different taste.

4. Foods containing iron. The growth and development of babies cannot do without the supplementation of trace elements, especially iron. Generally, full-term babies get enough iron from their mothers to last for three or four months, and they can start taking iron supplements when they are 4 or 5 months old. The best way to supplement iron is to add iron-containing foods, such as formula rice noodles, egg yolks, liver paste, etc. It is important to note that the baby's daily iron intake should not be less than 10 mg.
