Does your baby always pick at his wound after it scabs?

Babies always pick at the scabs on their wounds with their hands. Parents should pay more attention and not let the baby pick at it with their hands. They must wait until the scabs fall off naturally. After the scabs fall off naturally, the wound will heal. Parents should also apply vitamin E topically to the baby to prevent scars. If the child's wound cannot heal, it is likely that the wound is infected. In this case, parents must take the baby to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

In fact, the scab formed on the wound after injury is a kind of protection for the wound. The scab is formed by the coagulation of platelets and fibrin in the body. When the human body is injured, the platelets in the body will bring white blood cells and red blood cells to the wound, and they will stick together to form a blood clot to block the wound. Therefore, wound scabs can not only protect the wound, but also have the effect of stopping bleeding.

The reason why you always feel itchy when the wound is scabbing is actually a good sign that the wound is healing. When white blood cells are cleaning the wound, the body releases new cells to fill the damaged blood vessels and nerves in the wound. This tissue is called connective tissue. It is because of this connective tissue working in the body that the surface of the skin feels itchy.

When a wound forms a scab, many people cannot help but tear off the scab because of its ugly appearance and the pain and itchiness of the scab. In fact, this practice is wrong and will affect human safety. Because after the scab is formed, it prevents foreign cells from infecting the wound. If you remove the scab with your hands, it is likely to cause wound infection, so don't do this!

When you have a wound, don't treat it yourself.

If the wound is infected, take antibiotics or apply antibiotics to the wound.

If the wound is infected, whether or not to take antibiotics and what kind of antibiotics to take will need to be determined by the doctor;

If the infection has formed an abscess, a doctor will need to perform an abscess drainage operation. The local use of antibiotics is not beneficial to wound healing. It not only affects the normal inflammatory response process of the wound, but also can lead to the production of drug-resistant strains, affecting the normal healing process of the wound.

The mouth scar is itchy and I need to help it fall off

If it is a normal scar, you don't need to worry about it and just wait for it to fall off on its own.

However, if there is redness, swelling, or fluid leakage around the scab, it means there is a problem with the wound and you must peel off the scab to check the condition, clean the secretions, and take appropriate measures to promote wound healing as soon as possible.

The more frequently you change the medicine on your wound, the better, especially in summer.

More frequent dressing changes are only necessary if the wound dressing becomes soaked, contaminated, or the wound is infected.

The time for changing wound dressings is determined based on the specific conditions of the wound (nature of the wound, changes in the wound, amount of secretions, odor, etc.). It does not mean that the more frequently the dressing is changed, the faster the wound will heal.

The growth of wounds requires appropriate temperature and humidity. Excessive dressing changes will constantly change the local healing environment of the wound, which is not conducive to wound healing.
