What should I do if a 13-year-old girl has hereditary big toes?

In fact, a disease like bunion is not a very scary thing. If you find yourself suffering from this disease, you can actually recover your health by actively seeking treatment. But many times, for some friends, it is very painful if they inherit big toes. So, what should a 13-year-old girl do if she has inherited bunions? In fact, it can still be treated.

Currently, there are two methods for treating bunion, namely non-surgical treatment and surgical treatment.

1Non-surgical

Non-surgical suitable population

Under 18 years old

Having uncontrolled diabetes

Severe cardiovascular disease

Pregnancy or pregnancy planning

Mental illness

Relief for patients with mild bunions without bunions

Nonsurgical treatment options

1. Wear shoes. Do not wear high heels or pointed shoes or wear them as little as possible. Wear loose soft-soled shoes or sneakers. The elderly can choose to wear comfortable and soft cloth shoes.

2. Correction belt. If you can persist, you can wear a correction belt. The correction belt can effectively delay the development of the bunion, but it cannot cure the bunion.

3. Split-toe socks. Split-toe socks can effectively prevent the first toe from overlapping the second toe, but they must be worn with appropriate shoes.

4. Exercise, take some appropriate sports, such as walking barefoot on stone roads, beaches, etc., to exercise the strength of the plantar muscles and ligaments;

5. For health care, massage your feet every day and move your feet inwards every day;

2Surgery

Surgery is the treatment of choice when you:

Severe foot pain that limits your daily activities, including difficulty walking and wearing shoes, and pain that is difficult to improve with different shoes and orthotics. (Even wearing loose shoes)

Chronic bony hyperplasia of the big toe that is not improved by rest or physical therapy.

Patients with severe toe deformities may have severe bursitis in the big toe bone.

Plantar callosity with calcaneal deformity

Because once hallux valgus is diagnosed, conservative treatments can only delay the development of hallux valgus to a certain extent, but cannot control or cure hallux valgus; hallux valgus must be cured by surgery. However, there are many types of surgeries, and not one surgical method is suitable for all patients with bunion. A detailed examination is required to determine the surgical method!

When I perform big toe surgery, I usually use "minimally invasive correction", which combines correction with foot beauty. Through micro incisions, I can remove bone spurs, correct misaligned toes, and restore the foot shape to normal and beautiful. It has the advantages of no scars after the operation, a very small chance of recurrence, and very good long-term results.
