Why doesn't my daughter like her father?

Why doesn't my daughter like her father?

The role of father is very important in the family. The father must have a good relationship with the children. If the father is too strict, it may have a great impact on the child's growth in childhood. Some parents may find that their daughter does not like her father very much. In this case, they should consider whether it is because of lack of companionship, or overly strict discipline, etc., which may cause the child to become distant from the father.

First, clarify the code of conduct but don’t impose it on your children

Children should be told what they can and cannot do. If the child disagrees, you should find out the reason, discuss it together, and guide him/her patiently. You should never make it a mandatory requirement for him/her to do so. Children’s right to express their opinions and feelings should be recognized, and they should communicate with each other as friends.

Second, don’t be dogmatic

Don't always teach your children with a stern face and quotations from classics. Pay attention to your children's hobbies and personality. Some truths need to be made clear, such as stealing and lying are shameful, but some things cannot be applied mechanically.

Third, consciously cultivate children's independence and autonomy

Don't take over too much and think that your children can't do without you. Let your children do more things within their ability. Make some specific and clear requests and let him decide what to do.

Fourth, ask children to be responsible for their own behavior

When your child makes a decision or commitment, tell him or her to be responsible for his or her actions and the consequences. This can avoid unnecessary grumbling and complaining afterwards. For example, if a child insists on sleeping in past breakfast time, he should not be given anything to eat before lunch.

Fifth, do not humiliate your child in public

When children make mistakes, do not panic or leave them alone. Have a sincere conversation with them and help them get out of their mistakes. It is wrong to spoil your children, and beating and scolding are also unacceptable. Exposing children’s shortcomings in public will cause them to feel disgusted, while scolding and humiliating them will make them feel ashamed. They particularly care about the opinions of their friends and classmates, and we should protect the child's "face" in front of their classmates and friends. Issues that need to be discussed should be resolved privately, and the child should never be humiliated in public.

6. Help your child through puberty

Adolescence is a period of great physical and mental changes in children. At this time, children often have to learn to make their own decisions like adults. Parents should understand this and let them make their own decisions.

Seventh, parents should seriously reflect on their mistakes and dare to say "I'm sorry" to their children. Doing so will not only not cause them to lose their dignity, but will win their children's respect and deepen the parent-child relationship.

Eighth, children need loving care but not surveillance. Even if there are good reasons to believe that intervention is necessary, care must be taken not to harm the children. Generally speaking, parents should not ask about their children's privacy.

Ninth, don’t blame your children for everything.

Expectations for children should not be too high. Parents should focus more on communicating with their children, understand their thoughts and requests at any time, and give encouragement often, especially fathers, who are the spiritual pillars of their children.
