What causes red bumps on baby’s feet?

Dear mothers, have your babies ever had red bumps? If so, is it due to skin allergies or skin fungi? Mothers of babies who have not had them yet should pay attention. If the bumps are very itchy and red, it may be a skin allergy. If they are just red, it may be a fungal infection. If they are small bubbles, you should pay attention. Hand, foot and mouth disease is very prevalent now. You should observe whether there are ulcers in the baby's mouth. If so, you should take the baby to the hospital for a check-up. Below is some information on finding fungi.

1. Wheal-like lesions of varying sizes appear on the skin, which occur suddenly and disappear quickly, causing severe itching and leaving no trace after healing.

2. Chronic urticaria, wheal lesions recur repeatedly and last for more than 1 to 3 months.

3. Laboratory examination: skin allergen test may show positive results; serum IgE level is increased.

Identification of TCM Syndrome

1. Encyclopedia of Chinese Medicine: It is more common in children, often occurs in spring and autumn, and is prone to occur on the trunk and proximal limbs. It manifests as a spindle-shaped wheal-like rash the size of a raw rice ball, with blisters, or even bullae and blood blisters in the center, which disappears in 5 to 10 days.

2. Pigmented urticaria: After the wheal disappears, yellow-brown or brown pigmented spots remain, which may reappear after scratching or other mechanical stimulation.

3. Cat eye sores: Typical skin lesions are ring-shaped or rainbow-shaped, and are dark red or purple-red in color.

Wheals (urticaria) appear rapidly, and a few minutes before the wheals appear, there is often local itching or tingling. Some patients may experience systemic symptoms such as loss of appetite, general malaise, headache or fever within hours or a day or two after the appearance of the urticaria. Blisters or bullae develop on skin that appears normal but often has a red blush. These wheals are more likely to occur in children.

The wheals often disappear naturally within one or two hours or several hours, or at most within 1 to 2 days, but new lesions often appear elsewhere. Generally, no new lesions will occur within 24 hours where the wheals have disappeared. After the wheals disappear, the skin returns to normal, sometimes with temporary pigmented spots called pigmented urticaria. The size and number of wheals vary and may appear on any part of the skin or mucous membranes.

If it is very itchy, don't let your baby scratch it with his hands, as this will cause infection. If the baby is crying because of itchiness, you can use a clean cotton swab to temporarily relieve the itching. You can also go to the hospital or pharmacy to buy some anti-inflammatory drugs or anti-itching ointments and apply some medicine to the baby when he cries. If you find that your baby has a red pimple, you must prevent the second one from happening and make preventive preparations immediately. Have all mothers remembered this?
