The baby has gastroenteritis symptoms

A baby's family is like a sun-kissed child, especially now that most families have only daughters. Once a baby is born, the whole family revolves around him (her). The biggest worry is that something bad will happen to the baby. Only when the baby grows up healthily can the family be happy. Pay attention to the baby's healthy development and try every means to protect its healthy growth. Today we are going to talk about the baby's health issues, gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis refers to an inflammation of the stomach and small intestine. What are the symptoms and effects of gastroenteritis on babies?

Symptoms of gastroenteritis in babies:

Children generally have symptoms such as loss of appetite, fever, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Influence:

1. Dehydration

Severe vomiting and diarrhea can lead to dehydration. Therefore, when a child's diarrhea becomes more frequent or worse, parents should carefully watch for signs of dehydration in their child, such as abnormally dry mouth and tongue, loss of skin elasticity, a significant decrease in urine volume, and the child may appear irritable or even dull. If your child has any of the above symptoms or if you have any concerns, you should take your child to see a doctor as soon as possible.

2. Electrolyte imbalance

Vomiting or diarrhoea can cause a large loss of electrolytes in the body, affecting the body's functions.

3. Damage to gastrointestinal mucosa

This will cause the stomach and intestines to temporarily be unable to absorb lactose or high-fat foods.

4. Other complications

Severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalance can cause convulsions, abnormal heart rate, shock, kidney and multiple organ failure, and even death.

Therefore, as parents who have just had a baby, the baby's body is the most fragile. Children with gastroenteritis need to resume a normal diet as soon as possible, but they cannot eat fatty foods. Their diet should include carbohydrate foods (such as porridge and whole wheat bread), lean meat, yogurt, fruits and vegetables, etc. It is recommended to wash hands before eating, opening milk and feeding, going to the toilet and changing diapers for the sick child. Used diapers should be put into the designated plastic tube and covered. During hospitalization, follow the instructions of medical staff, pay attention to hygiene and comply with various isolation and care measures, stay away from all kinds of unhealthy and unhygienic things, and let the baby grow up healthy and happy.
