What should I do if my child has bad breath and constipation?

Constipation is one of the most common diseases among children. This disease will recur and often last for a long time, which makes mothers feel very distressed. The most important thing is that if the child is always constipated, the child will also have bad breath problems. Although constipation is not a serious disease, it has a great impact on babies. So, what should we do if children have bad breath and constipation?

Constipation in infants and young children is a common disease. This is because the baby’s digestive organs are not fully developed, which can easily cause bowel movements.

There are many reasons, which can be generally divided into two categories. One is functional constipation. For example, improper diet, irregular sleep, and failure to develop good bowel habits can all lead to baby constipation.

This type of constipation can be cured through conditioning; the other type is constipation caused by congenital intestinal malformations, which cannot be cured through general conditioning and must be corrected through surgery. But the vast majority of infant constipation is functional.

Drinking more water is a magic weapon to cure constipation

The specific method is: give your baby more water, boiled water, orange juice, or honey water will do. For babies who are switching from breast milk to cow's milk, the milk should be slightly diluted in the early stages to allow the baby's stomach and intestines to gradually adapt.

To determine whether your baby is constipated, do not just use the number of times the baby has bowel movements as the diagnosis standard. Instead, you should make an overall observation of the baby's major changes and also see whether the baby's health is normal. Every child has a different physique and the number of bowel movements per day is also different. Therefore, it is best to see a doctor to determine whether your baby is constipated.
