What causes abdominal pain and vomiting in children?

Children themselves have lower physical resistance. If they are not taken seriously, they are likely to develop some diseases. The most common one is stomach pain. When this happens, it is usually accompanied by symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. This is more serious and may be caused by abnormal diet. Therefore, special attention should be paid to adjust their so-called eating habits in time.

Causes

1. External pathogens attack the stomach

When affected by the six evil pathogens of wind, cold, heat, dampness, dryness and fire, or foul and turbid air, the stomach organs are invaded, the stomach loses its normal function of harmony and descending, and food and water go up with the adverse air, causing vomiting. Due to different seasons, the pathogens we feel will also be different, but generally cold pathogens are the most common.

2. Improper diet

Overeating, binge eating, eating too much raw and cold food, drinking alcohol, spicy food, sweet, fatty and unclean food can all damage the stomach and spleen, easily causing food stagnation, failure of stomach qi to descend, and vomiting.

3. Emotional disorders

Anger hurts the liver, causing the liver to lose its order, which in turn affects the stomach, causing stomach qi to rise up; worry hurts the spleen, causing the spleen to lose its healthy function, making it difficult to digest food, and causing the stomach to lose its harmony and descending function, all of which can cause vomiting.

4. Physical weakness after illness

The spleen and stomach are weak, or the body is weak after illness, overwork and fatigue, which damages the vital energy. The weak stomach cannot hold water and food, and the weak spleen cannot transform and produce essence. Food stagnates in the stomach and goes up to cause vomiting.

Pathogenesis

The main site of vomiting is the stomach, but it is closely related to the liver and spleen. The basic pathogenesis is stomach disharmony and descending, and stomach qi rising. The pathological properties can be divided into two categories: deficiency and excess. Excess syndrome is caused by external evil, food stagnation, phlegm and fluid, liver qi and other evil spirits invading the stomach, resulting in stomach qi stagnation, disorder of ascending and descending, and nausea caused by qi reversal; deficiency syndrome is caused by deficiency of spleen and stomach qi and yin, disorder of transportation and transformation, and inability to harmonize and descend. Pathological evolution: The initial stage of the disease is mostly solid, and prolonged vomiting will damage the spleen and stomach, weaken the spleen and stomach, and the disease may turn from solid to deficient. There are also cases where the spleen and stomach are weak and damaged by diet, resulting in mixed symptoms of deficiency and excess.

Diagnosis

1. At the beginning, the amount of vomiting is large and the vomitus has a sour and rancid smell. After a long illness, the vomiting occurs intermittently, the vomitus is not much, and the sour and rancid smell is not strong.

2. New disease, with frequent vomiting, often accompanied by chills, fever, and strong pulse. Long-term illness leads to deficiency of the body's health and weak vomiting, which is often accompanied by symptoms such as mental depression, fatigue, sallow complexion, and weak pulse.

3. This disease is often accompanied by a history of irregular diet, excessive consumption of raw and cold food, anger and depression, or long-term illness.

Disease identification

1. Vomiting and choking

Both vomiting and choking have symptoms of vomiting. However, in patients with vomiting, eating is smooth but vomiting occurs at irregular times. The disease of choking and indigestion causes choking while eating or inability to eat, or vomiting immediately after eating, or even the inability to eat due to choking. Most cases of vomiting are mild, with a short course and a good prognosis. However, dysphagia is mostly caused by internal injuries, the condition is serious, the course of the disease is long, and the prognosis is poor.
