What should I do if my child gets food poisoning?

Children's digestive system and stomach are very weak. Sometimes if a child has some food poisoning, parents will be very anxious, but they don't know what to do. They can only watch the child vomiting with headaches and foaming at the mouth. Everyone wants to know what first aid measures are available. Today we will introduce to you what to do if a child has food poisoning!

1. Ask for help. Call 120 emergency number immediately, or send the poisoned person to the hospital as soon as possible for gastric lavage, enema, laxative and other treatments. If timely treatment is provided, many children can recover, but if treatment is delayed, some children's lives will be in danger.

2. Induce vomiting. Children who have already fallen into a coma and are unable to manage their own airways, as well as infants under one year old whose respiratory function is relatively poor, are not easy to induce vomiting in these situations. For older children and conscious children, teachers can induce vomiting. In addition, teachers should pay attention to not letting children dry heave before inducing vomiting. They should first give the children some water, milk or even egg white, and then induce vomiting. This will alleviate the damage to the stomach and esophageal mucosa caused by vomiting itself.

The position for inducing vomiting: press down the tongue, with the esophagus at the top and the trachea at the bottom. There is an epiglottis in the trachea. When we swallow food, the epiglottis will close to prevent food from entering the trachea. Teachers should be especially careful when inducing vomiting, and must not allow the vomit of children to flow back into the airway, causing suffocation by foreign objects in the airway. Do not induce vomiting in comatose patients or patients who have swallowed corrosive or chemical substances. It is meaningless to induce vomiting in patients who have been in the state for more than 5-6 hours.

We must also pay attention to controlling the situation of children, especially in the case of large-scale food poisoning. Don't let them panic, as trampling may occur, which is not conducive to recovery. We also need to pay attention to comforting them and waiting for emergency treatment. When necessary, we must also pay attention to isolation to avoid a certain degree of infectiousness.
